Mold Rhymes With...

Bring the Imbued Skeletal Fragments and 15 gold coins to Krinkle Goodsteel in Gadgetzan.
Imbued Skeletal Fragments
  •
Required Money: 15
Provided Item:
Imbued Skeletal Fragments

Description

The goblin you will need to speak with is Krinkle Goodsteel. He peddles his skills to the highest bidder in Gadgetzan, within the Tanaris desert. He'll likely be the only one who can produce the mold we need, and his services won't come cheap. We now ask for you to dig deep by footing whatever fee he will charge.

I'm an alchemist, not a banker. If I had gold lying around, I certainly wouldn't be here.

I guess I said the quiet part out loud again. Oops.

Gadgetzan awaits you! Good luck!

If you do decide to do this quest, I suggest you bring 2 Thorium Bars with you. The next part in the chain will require them. It'll save you a trip and allow you to go straight to Un'Goro and do the next part.

YOU HAVE TO DO THIS QUEST to obtain "The Key to Scholomance" ( http://classicdb.ch/?quest=5511 )
Your not paying 15g for 600xp in the long run. Like Pratt said, if YOU don't want the key to the instance then that's a different story but most people who do this quest line are here for the key not for xp.

I waited until 60 to do this and by the time I had finished the chain and defeated Araj (also completing Alas Anderhol at the same time) the quest rewards had more than compensated for the expense of the mold and Thorium Bars.

If you're a warlock, you dont need to do this for the scholo key. At the door to scholomance, lifetap down to as little HP as you can, then use hellfire. As a ghost, walk back to your corpse, but res on the other side of the door - don't worry, you dont lose durability.

Finish the quest, pay 15 gold, and get the key.

Or don't.

No one cares.

On the off chance that you want the highest dps blue weap in the game, you'll need to 5-man Scholo a few times.&nbsp In a 5man shooting for a mostly undead inst, chances are you be going without a rogue once or twice.&nbsp And relying on other people to spend their money and effort for your convenience is hardly wise.&nbsp Not that they'd begrudge it to you, but they probably are relying on you.&nbsp 15g for a weap that will comfortably serve you until your first epic isn't bad.&nbsp If you already have an epic, I'm not sure why you'd bother with this instance anyways, so I don't know why you'd complain. . . .

In my opinion you should complete all chain quests because they are there for a reason.&nbsp This one gives you a Key to enter yes the hardest 5 man instance.&nbsp So get the Key and you have peace of mind that you will always be able to get into the instace without tricks.

If your around 55-60 and doing this quest and worrying about 15g then you must be wearing outdated armor and items.&nbsp A simple sollution to gold problems is to just go to Deadmines.&nbsp Yes the little noob dungen, run threw the entire thing then run threw the Instance.&nbsp Loot all magic items and all cloth then go to the AH and sell everything.&nbsp

This will take you about 1 to 2 hours and everything will sell and you will get at least 15g from that run.&nbsp I go there run the entire thing then Instance then do it again untill all slots of my inventory are full (4 travelers)&nbsp I get about 20-30g depending on AH prices.&nbsp

What you have to remember is ALL lower level items are way over priced because everyone uses them.&nbsp And at 55 or higher you can simply tear threw deadmines killing grps of 5 or more at a time then shift click the corpses.&nbsp its crazy fast cash so start making some and get new armor and items then get your key and stop worrying about money.&nbsp

Best money making profeshions are Skinning and Enchanting, you sell your sinning stuff and you DE BOP items and magic items that have crap stats then sell all your DE stuff.&nbsp If you do this you will be crapping cash by level 30 and never have to worry about cash ever again.&nbsp After your rich and you want to make stuff then fine switch profeshions and make stuff.

BEFORE U LEAVE THIS CONTINENT, UNLESS U R A MINER AND HAVE THORIUM BARS ON YOU, STOP IN THE AH IN IF AND BUY 2 THORIUM BARS.

for this part, all you need to do is fly from chillwood camp to menethil harbor, then take boat to dustwallow marsh, then gryph to tanaris/gadget. pay the guy, then head on to un'goro crater.

If you are a Warlock, you MUST go into Scholo as part of your quest for Dreadsteed (the 'imp in a jar' part).

But i guess you could also die/res through the door as someone suggested (haven't tried that yet).

Then again... a scholo key will always be usefull if you are in a guild that does dungeons just for the fun of it :)

Yeah, or you could go through the chain and realise that the last quest, where you kill the summoner, you get 23k xp for completing...

15g for 23k xp = Fair?

Whoblitzell and Wargrave are right. Whether Blizz intended to do this or not (to this extent, anyway), there isn't much point beyond curiosity to do Scholo or Dire Maul either. At least not for the drops. You might want to do them for the challenge but it will take you some time to find a group.

All your potential groupmates are off in Outland...

Incidentally, the Outland adventurers are selling stuff in the AH that's better than Scholo and Strat gear and costs a lot less than 15G.

This quest is for getting the key made for the scholomance. Yes, if you can lockpick save your money. I'm not even sure if I should have spend the 15g, someone will always have a key.

Unless you are an obsessed WoW freak (having no time to farm some stuff to sell or make stuff to sell), 15 gold at level 60 is nothing.

It seems like a lot after levelling up your first character to 60, but once you realize you can go just about anywhere, including soloing instances that used to kick your a$$, it's just a matter of finding profitable stuff to farm/make/sell.

For instance, I made 70 gold in 6 days leveling up my cooking skill and selling the stuff I made to level up.&nbsp (I never levelled my cooking because I didn't need it as a Druid)&nbsp That's 6 days at 2-3 hours/day, by the way, not 16 hours a day like some people.

That's cooking -- mid to high-level food goes for 1-3 gold per stack of 10-20.&nbsp The leatherworking cash cows (at least on Llane server) are rugged armor kits and heavy leather.&nbsp I can farm about 30 rugged armor kits in a 2-3 hour night, and they go for 1.0-1.5 gold each at AH.&nbsp Don't ask me why, but stacks of 10 heavy leather sell for 1 gold each (more than thick leather), which is ridiculously easy to farm in Stranglethorn.

So, I could easily farm 30 gold per night, but straight farming is boring, so just mix and match.

Just start by looking at the most expensive consumable and trade items in your server's AH...

Total waste of time and money.&nbsp First you pay the 15G, then you have to go to Tanaris. The goblin will give you a mold, you'll need to take the mold and 2 thorium bars to Un'Goro to smelt the key in the lava.&nbsp Then you turn in the quest back at the Bulwark... but you aren't done.

You then have to kill the Lich King in Andorhal. A 61 Elite with an army surrounding him.

The quest requires a lot of money for it (I had around 30g and started thinking if it's worth it) and then again I asked a rogue to pick lock the door...no fuss at all :)

At least the drop rate for the skeleton fragments was pretty high when I collected them.

I'm honored with Gadgetzan and it didn't reduce the cost ... so...

I threw away the Imbued Skeletal Fragments sometime back while clearing my inventory and forgot it was for this quest. But recently when I decided to work on this quest again. I realised the fragments were gone but now I can't get them back.

If I abandon and restart the quest, I don't get the fragments back so I can't do this quest anymore. What can I do now? Should I ask a Gm to see if he can restore this item for me?

You don't need a key for Scholo, just take off all your armor, go onto the roof, and keep jumping off until you die so you can run through the door, rezz there, and pull the torch to let your group in

well one would assume that by the level 50 15 gold should not be a problem anymore...so if you ever want to do scholomance with your group without the need of a rogue...i say it's worthy. Though it's no need to actually take the 2 thorium bars with you...they're needed for the next part of this.

If i remembering it right this quest part dont even give a key it just give another part of a key chain asking to go ungoro crater next for few thorium ore bars and asking later even more gold rippoff quest think hard do you really need to do all this when someone else probably has a key always. Rogues never needed it since they simple just picklock it.

Want a cheaper Scholo key? Do the Winterspring quest where you collect fragments from the lake and craft the Crystal of Zin-Malor. Go to the door, equip it, die, run through the door as a ghost and res. Use the torch to open the door for the rest. Or pick the door. Or Hellfire. Or find a spot close to the door that let's you die and ress inside. Easy and much less costly than damn 15g :/
