Body and Heart

Use the Cenarion Lunardust on the Moonkin Stone between Mulgore and the Barrens to bring forth Lunaclaw. From there, you must face Lunaclaw and earn the strength of body and heart it possesses.

Speak with Turak Runetotem in Thunder Bluff when you are done.
  •
Face Lunaclaw and earn the strength of body and heart it possesses.
Provided Item:
Cenarion Lunardust

Description

On land west of Taurajo in the Barrens - just before it turns into Mulgore - lies a Moonkin Stone. The moonkin are special beasts, not native to these parts. Lunaclaw, the stone's defender, will face you when Cenarion Lunardust is applied to it. Lunaclaw possesses within it a strength that you must use as one of the Claw.

You've earned the right to use this Cenarion Lunardust, <name>... now show me that you've earned the right to possess the strength of body and the strength of heart needed as a druid!

The moonkin stone is behind the very first building on the right as you cross from Mulgore into the Southern Barrens. The coordinates for the stone are 42,61.

Sprinkle the Cenarion Lunardust on the stone by left-clicking the dust in your inventory. Lunaclaw will come at you from behind the tree. Pretty easy fight, even at level 10. Once you have defeated Lunaclaw, you will be able to speak to his spirit, which completes the quest. Go back to Thunder Bluff to get your first bear form.

Easy quest, but not so easy to find. Right after you enter The Barrens, you see a teepee or house at your right, go up there, but before you go past the "windmill", turn 45 degrees left and walk past the tree, you will see the stone.

The stone is to the right of the road as you come up over the hill into The Barrens from Mulgore. You will see a little house that is empty. Continue past that close to the rocks and look for the stone. Its in a small indentation in the rocks and nothing that I could see wanders near it. Use the dust and Lunaclaw will spawn. It is level 13. Once it is dead, its spirit will appear, and you talk to it to complete the quest. Return to Thunder Bluff to the druid trainer to finish up the quest.

Good luck!

i remember doing this quest way back when.. and i started laughing when i saw lunaclaw come scuttling from behind the tree. then he promptly ripped me a new one for my insolence.

anyway if someone kills lunaclaw, any druids that are on the quest can talk to him and complete theirs - don't even need to be grouped.

ps: the trick is moonfire+roots ... let the dots tick. repeat

Very easy, if you start to have trouble with moonkin, entangling roots, heal or wrath-nuke him to death.

Good luck.

Be careful if you do happen to not kill Lunaclaw and retry a few times, because eventually s/he despawns, but your Lunardust will disappear. You'll have to go back to Thunder Bluff and abandon the quest and retake it to get more.

When you enter The Barrens from Mulgore you see a house with a peon in it. Behind the house is a stone apply the stuff he gave you and walk away from the stone towards south. Lunclaw spawns pull him with Wrath, moonfire and go melee. Finish with some moonire. If need Heal youself. Speak with the spirit and go back to Thunder Bluff.

The moonkin is a lvl 12 and I died twice before I got my act together. :P Each time after I died, I ran back and he was still there milling about. The above comment is correct, just use your entangling roots and back up to renew/heal. Loc 42.60
Just as you enter the barrens on the right behind the peon's house.

Head toward Barrens, As you leave Mulgore there is a tent with a peon inside.
Behind the tent near a big tree is the stone.
It looks like a copper lode to me

Return to Thunder Bluff to the druid trainer to finish up the quest.
Presumably, that's the Tauren version of that quest?

The Night Elf finish is to talk to Mathrengyl Bearwalker in Darnassus, in the Cenarion Enclave. The quest notes in-game are depressingly incomplete on this score... but better than no notes at all.

I've seen people doing the Lunaclaw encounter and wiping for a few different reasons. What I found to be the easiest thing to do, is either group with someone to clear all the moonkins outside and prevent added aggro OR kill all the moonkins off and try Lunaclaw solo if you can pull out of the cave and away from the other mobs.

I killed Lunaclaw on my first try, but I was level 12, which was a very easy fight using all your spells and a good staff... with no other mobs around.

Did this last night with level 10. How to find stone: (HORDE) At the border of the
Barrens and Mulgore there is a hut off to the side of the road with a small fenced-in yard and an Orc peon named, get this, Peon! From the road, turn toward the hut and go straight past it 10 yards or so. The stone is one of those white Elven road marker types with the glowing spot in it, up against the tan rocks, you can't miss it.
Use the dust stuff and Lunaclaw will spawn a few yards back. He was level 12, but went down quite easily. Had a healing potion ready but didn't need it. After you defeat him, (it's kind of like a duel cuz he stays there) he tells you some druid lore stuff and after awhile he fades away.

I tried to take on the lunaclaw at lvl 10... well... lets say it wasn't pretty. I highly suggest bringing friends or waiting a few more levels. I don't know why they tease dr00ds with bearform at lvl 10 when there is no way you can achieve it until later :(

Once you see the actual empty house (which has one of those fan wells), it is actually right behind the house. It is just a small rock that is on the ground there.

Go over to it and use your dust.

I just helped some lvl 10 in my guild with this. Simplest possible directions I can give you are these. Just walk from Bloodhoof Village. When you get to the border of Barrens and Mulgore, there's a little hut right there. Just walk behind it, right into the mountains and the stone is RIGHT there. I passed a million times before i realized it was directly in front of me. Good luck with it you guys!

For those not using a co-ordinate enabled add-on, the location of the stone is as follows:
on the BARRENS side of the Mugore/Barrens border is a hut on the SOUTHERN side of the road (i.e. if you are entering the Barrens from Mulgore, it's to your right). The stone is BEHIND this hut (i.e. travelling SOUTH from the road(.

Wasn't to hard. Only prob I had was when I first fought him, a wandering level ? monster that looked like a triceratops dinosaur came along and wooped me.

If you are having trouble with this quest, just make sure you face the house when using the dust, then hit lunaclaw with some wrath, then roots, more wrath, and keep him in roots.

You'll beat him quite easily. Just stay near the hill, out of sight of any roaming mobs.
