The Eastern Plagues

Scour the Eastern Plaguelands for clues as to the "Blightcaller" and the missing SI:7 agents. If you find any SI:7 Insignias, return them to Flint Shadowmore at Chillwind Camp.
  •
The Blightcaller Uncovered
SI:7 Insignia (Rutger)
SI:7 Insignia (Fredo)
SI:7 Insignia (Turyen)

Description

As I said, your first mission is one of reconnaissance. Nothing fancy, <name>. You must travel to the Eastern Plaguelands and look for any clues as to this Blightcaller.

Be on the lookout for information about our missing operatives. We have to assume that they are dead and if they are dead, they must have a corpse... somewhere.

<Flint swallows hard.>

All SI:7 agents carry this insignia.

<Flint shows you his SI:7 insignia.>

Bring any of those that you may find back to me.

Nathanos Blightcaller's location is in front of the house at 26, 74.&nbsp This is labeled on the map as "The Marris Stead" and is just north of Darrowshire.

The remains of the SI:7 Operatives look just like human bones of any dead player, don't get confused and startlooking at every little pile of yellow bones littered around the house.&nbsp They don't move at all (once you get them they don't disappear so its ok to do this as a group).

Fredo: 27, 74 | Right infront of the Blightcaller, on top of a little mound
Turyen: 28, 74 | A little ways East, but still directly infront of Blightcaller, on top of a hill
Rutger: 28, 79 | Either follow the road East until you see him, or head directly SW from BlightCaller

This was quite a lot easier than it seems, because like the description says, this is a reconnaissance quest. The objective is to collect information about the enemy without engaging him (Blightcaller). The first remains can be found near the road on the North side between the bridge to WPL and the intersection to Darrowshire. I missed it riding through from West to East, but when I turned around and went back towards the West, it was easy to spot off of the right side of the road. The second remains can be found if you go due North from the first remains into the Marris Stead area and they are on top of one of the small knolls. From that spot if you turn and face West you should be able to the the house, Blightcaller, and the third remains. I just crept up to the remains from behind the little knoll until the curser became gold and looted them. It's uncomfortably close to the Elite and his hounds, but I drew no aggro at lvl56 and just sauntered away. It's very likely that's how the quest is designed to work (reconnaissance not combat), but the leeway is probably very small and creeping any closer to the remains than necessary is likely to draw aggro from Blightcaller.

AND for those WITH OUT coordinates

If you look at the 'marris stead' place it looks like a horse shoe.&nbsp Down the middle of the horse shoe (if you notice on your mini map) there is a string of hills.. 2 of the bodies are on those little hills.&nbsp CAREFUL..this elite croud is a 40man.. MANY ADDS.. BIG WIPE-O!... but if you are aware of your agro.. you will be fine.

The bodies look like players dead bodies after they have rezd.. just an outline of bones ...

the 3rd body is south of the horse shoe near the road.. like maybe 10ft off the road at best.. 50 if you are a gnome HA! :D

I hope this helped ppl a bit more.

The three insignias are very close to the Blightcaller himself, a house up North from the road as you've entered the Eastern Plaguelands, almost on the same line as The Undercroft.

One is located on a hill in facing the house, the other is near the road (Rutger) and one on a hill closer to the Blightcaller.

You have to turn it in back at Chillwind Camp then report to Highlord Bolvard Fordragon in Stormwind Keep

When you go to pick up the insignias, make sure you're not in a raid group, because you wont be able to click them.

Moonfalcon said (Google translated from German):&nbsp "All three skeletons lie apart very closely together, on the mini map no longer than 1 centimeter."

That is a real good indication of how close together the corpses are.&nbsp I didn't mention that at all.

He/she also reported no problem with the corpse near the house at L58.

Thanks!

Remains can be found:

Loc.: 28,79 + 28,74 + 27,74

The Blightcaller is near the last location.

You can sneak up to the last remain without agroing the Blightcaller lvl 62+

The yellow dots are the bodys (They are nothing but skellys that look like a human male after they have rezed.) the red dot is where the lvl 62 eliet blightcaller is, with him is 2 hounds 58 eliet each, however you never get close enough to pull their argo .

You are looking for skeletons laying on the ground...the first one is barely off the road and the other two are directly in front of the Blightcaller...one close and the other farther away from him.

If you are coming from the chapel (east) then, as you come down the hill, look for abandoned, broken siege equipment on the left at the bottom. To the right of the road should be a tree-stump, and just before it a gnawed tree. The the first skeleton, Rutger, is just before you come to this tree. Click on it to retrieve (you will need to leave group if you are in a raid party).

Turn north and head up the hill to the north west. As you crest it, you will see three parallel outcrops of rock. The second and third skeletons are on the central spine, leading up to the Maris Farmstead. Alliance players need to be careful not to run too far forward beyond it, and hence causing a threat to Nathanos or the Direhounds. You should also get a message that Blightcaller has been uncovered.

Return to Chillwind (depending on level and abilities, it may be faster to ride back to Western rather than to the Chapel and fly back) to hand in. You will then need to report back to Highlord Bolvard Fordragon, who is in the Keep in Stormwind, right as you go in.

The "Translation" post above is right on the money.&nbsp The Marris Stead is in the far western part of EPL, just off the road to the left as you enter from WPL.&nbsp

In front of the Stead house are two rows of small mounds/hills.&nbsp If you're facing the house, the first two insignias are on the skeletal remains on the mounds on the right side (the first insignia is on the mound closest to the house, but you won't aggro the elites, and the second one is I think just two mounds back from that on the same side).&nbsp For the third insignia, just turn toward the road, and you should see the last skeleton on the ground as you're approaching the road.&nbsp

These are all skeletal remains no gore visible.
I did this while clearing old q's with a 61 paladin and didn't agro anything

Walkthrough

Due North of the Undercroft and Visible on the ground on the north side of the road At 28,79 are the remains of Rurger.
then head north of that and on a hill at 28,74 you will find Turyen's bones. Look west at this point and you will see a house with a 62 Elite Humanoid( Nathan Blightcaller) and 2 52 Elite Blighthounds, right in front of the humanoid you will find the remains of Fredo this is at 27,74

Summary

28,79 Rurger
28,74 Turyen
27,74 Fredo

At 60, I was able to do this quest without aggroing the 62elite. The body parts are around the house and can be gotten solo. This leads to a 62 elite raid. Great experience for a level 59. If you aggro him solo... run.

ok, here's the deal... when you are at the elite, go a little east, you will find Fredo (on a little hill)... walk more east, and you will find turyen (on another little hill) , and last walk soth from Turyen's remains, and on the flat ground, you will find Rutgers remains... Good Luck!

I just completed this not 10 minutes ago as a level 56. The only remains/insignia I had doubts about was the set right near Blightcaller himself. Just toggled on walk with / key, then crept up on it until the gear icon turned golden. Looted and got the heck outta there without incident. :)

Fredo - x: 27.2 and y: 75.0 (27.2,75.0)
Turyen - x: 28.8 and y: 74.9 (28.8,74.9)

I completed this at lvl 60. Very simple and easy quest.

To uncover Blightcaller just walk up near him. Watch your aggro though. He is at Marris's Stead right in front of the front door of the house there.

Rutger is south of the house near the road.
Fredo is right in front of Blightcaller.
Turyen is east of the house on a small hill.
