<name>, since I have you here, I got a message from Groy while you were gone. He mentioned bein' satisfied with the last shipment that arrived and has a client that wants some more of the stuff right away.

I won't be headin' to Theramore for a week, but if you're willin' to make the journey, there's no reason you can't take the stuff for me.

Feeling adventurous? You do know where Dustwallow Marsh is, doncha? I'd be careful though, Theramore can be dangerous if you're the wrong kind of crowd.

I wish they could fix whatever it is that makes drop
rates so horribly variable from player to player, or
time to time. Maybe its dependent on the phase of the
moon over something. In any case, this leg of the quest
was simple enough, getting the reeds is another matter.

I've leveled through STV a couple of times already on a horde character, and as far as I know horde has never been able to get this part, only the first one.
It wouldn't make sense.

I swam around to the docks and was using Far Sight to find the guy (I'm Horde). While I was looking for him, I noticed him on my mini map walking. He walks right out to the docks at a place where you can get to w/o fear of the guards. Just climb up in the dock area and wait for him there.

I just did it - but wasn't easy. Had to charge in to him from the docks with guards attacking. Died, rez'd right next to him and completed quest very quickly while being attacked again by guards, who are standing pretty close to him. Rez'd again, ran out while being attacked yet again, but managed to live long enough to get clear (I'm level 43, guards attacking were 50-56, so no chance to fight way in.

All-in-all a pretty screwed up quest.

Check out the prereq for this quest, it comes from Booty Bay and is available to both Alliance and Horde however, it may be difficult, if not impossible, for Horde characters to do the next leg of the quest. It is in alliance-owned Theramore. I soloed this quest as a 40 hunter, and it was moderately difficult. I had to stay along the edge of the beach and wait for pops (which wasn't long) to avoid adds. Drop rate wasn't great, but not horrible either.

Did the previous quest (getting the Akiris Reed) with my troll priest. I can not get this part anymore and it has become an alliance-only quest.

Makes more sense anyway. Privateer Groy is in an area with level 55-58 alliance guards.
