Stromgarde Badge (7)

Description

The Syndicate in Stromgarde do battle with our contingent of militia there. In order to urge the rabble to fight our more disciplined troops, the Syndicate leaders have placed a bounty on our soldiers, awarding gold for each Stromgarde Badge gathered off killed militiamen.

We want those badges retrieved - we cannot allow the cutthroats to take trophies from our brave fallen!

Enter the Syndicate-controlled area of Stromgarde and hunt them for our badges.

To get this quest you're required to have finished the quest Northfold Manor from the same quest giver.

I did this quest at 36.. (With a group, of course.) And yeah, it took a bit of time, and certainly got me killed about 5 times..&nbsp I still got 25k exp for killing the mobs, and another 3550 for the reward..&nbsp The point of most questing is to have you distracted while grinding..&nbsp To have you focus on one thing while achieving the ultimate goal..&nbsp Leveling!

Can be done along with the quests: Wanted! Marez Cowl (http://classicdb.ch/?quest=684) and Wanted! Otto and Falconcrest (http://classicdb.ch/?quest=685) to avoid tedium. They're all at Stromgarde.

the drop rates on the badges make this quest long and not worth the time you must put into it, unless you need the leggings i suggest not attempting this quest

The people that drop the badges are all the guys and girls inside Stromgard wich is south in between Refuge Point and Alterac Mountains i think its called (road to Southshore). This quest was actually really fast, because they all drop the badges, and you fight them 4 at a time or so. For me they mostly dropped 2 badges at a time per person, so 1 mob dropped 2 at a time for me, so 15 wasn't so hard to get with a group of 5.

I disliked this quest intensely. I attempted to do it as a lvl 44 hunter with a lvl 40 druid friend and within moments we didn't feel it was worth the effort. We got only one badge for every 5 kills, got crappy loot, and unimpressive experience. Getting 30 badges between the two of us was quickly decided to be not worth the reward and both of us dropped the quest.

I made the mistake of going into this place solo to see what it was like.&nbsp The badges do not drop '2 at at time'...&nbsp I did manage a couple but it was tough!&nbsp Lvl 38 NE Hunter with Croc.&nbsp The trick for small groups is to find one target that you can pull to a safe fighting area then attack!&nbsp This worked ok, but the problem I found was that the Elite Guards will run from you when their health gets too low.&nbsp They run for help from other guards.&nbsp So be ready to stop him/her before they can get very far - I could not as my bow is too weak to do damage to and elite at my lvl in time to stop them from getting hellp.&nbsp Keep those things in mind and a small group should have no troubles.&nbsp Despite what some had said, I think this is a worthwhile quest as I gained a lot of xp just surviving and getting out!&nbsp After the reputation points and completion xp it should definitely be worth it.&nbsp I will go back solo when I reach lvl40, can use the new bow I bought, and have mail armor as the player above noted.

Mind you, these are all elites (levels 36-37). Doable for a decent-geared L37, but still elites.

I just solo'd this quest as a 41 mage, took about 90 minutes from start to finish. The badges dropped in ones and twos which makes me think they increased the drop rate.

The reward at level 41 was 3550 exp and 165 reputation with Stormwind.

Very tedious quest. Low drop rate and since it's elite most people do it with a full group. Imagine trying to get 15 badges for each member, meaning 75 total. People in my group ended up leaving as soon as they got 15 and we kept inviting new ppl in. Took me nearly 3 hrs before I got my own 15 badges.

Reward's just that useless pants (I'm a mage) and mere 3250 exp (which I can easily get by grinding for 15-30 mins).

Ugh. =(

...with the right group.

Was part of a 5 member PUG, I was L38 NE R and there was one other L38 toon, all others L32-35.

We were really after the two elites found on the wanted poster in Refuge Point, but I picked up the badges while we hunted for them. Basically entered Stormgarde Keep, turned left at the first intersection, cleared out the elites, badges dropped pretty frequently, usually in 2's, every once in a while as singles or triples.

Doubled back, hit the main intersection, turned left (which would be straight ahead if you were entering the Keep from the main entrance), headed up hill and cleared out other elites, badges dropping all the time. It was very intense, but I ended up getting all 15 badges in about 30 minutes.

Hey guys I have not done this quest but i have it in my quest log, but after reading these posts i think im going to drop it, see i just did a Scarlet Monastary (Armory) run and scored some Scarlet leggins (Elite mob at the end)im not sure on all the specs but the are like 203 armor and +20 Str (level 38 blue item), WOW i said to myself, so save yourself the trouble, find a group and do the SM run, I know its sucks that you cant use till level 38 but worth it and whatever your wearing now can hold out alittle longer :)

I spent about 90 minutes doing this quest and the two wanted ones. I got 12/15 badges along with the heads. The two others in my party each got all the badges. I'm going to pick up the rest tonight going solo with my lvl 26 hunter.

Horrible, horrible quest. Did it with a few 37 war and a 34 druid and we ended up grinding for two hours before we gave up. A total of 10 badges dropped. I might abandon this or wait until I'm 40 or so to solo it. Not worth it in a group, though.

The Risk/Reward Factor for this quest was crap. 3200 exp for 1.5 hours of grouping (mobs are Elite so soloing this quest when its still yellow in your quest log is kind of out of the question). Plus the drop rate on the badges was really low. Bottom line, find a different quest.

This quest is a joke I recommend anyone that is considering doing it to just pass. Its really not worth your time especially in terms of reward and exp. it took me 3.5 hours last night to get 10 badges..just pass on this quest :)
