Material Assistance

If you are interested in helping Sagorne Crestrider in Orgrimmar's Valley of Wisdom, bring him an Azerothian Diamond and a Pristine Black Diamond.
Azerothian Diamond
Pristine Black Diamond

Description

<name>, there is a pressing matter I hope you can help with... both materially and spiritually. Allow me to explain.

Within the depths of the Scholomance in Lordaeron is a chamber called the Great Ossuary. I need to complete a device that would pierce the shadows of this horrid room. To finish what I have started, I need two diamonds: an Azerothian and a Pristine Black. These are not trivial items, I know - I just don't have the resources myself.

Could you provide me with one of each?

it is kinda crapy.. the coif of elements is almost as good only:
Equip: Improves your chance to get a critical strike with spells by 1% is better...

I mean just get the trinked "eye of the beast" from warlords command quest for 2% more crit change..

The should boost the sta and int on this item a bit and make it epic.

It starts you on another quest. Have to get the head of the Darkreaver in the basement of the Ossuary in Scholo. We treid to 10 man it has to be 5 manned. Careful though there are 6 series of mob spawns. the 4th on is the worst. 10, 60 and 61 elites spawn. Not sure what you get for the head yet get back to you on that.

Do you plan to wear an element forever? I see this epic as pretty decent. I wish they would substitute strength for intelligence. Im going to jump in on the "OMFG IDIOT!" arguement.

% is a %.. a chance. There is no real telling if you'll crit every hit throughout the duel or not at all. You can make a % to try to determine what % you may crit..but even that is still random, its like a /roll 1-100...

So the whole 4.52 min jive based off a math theory imo is very wrong. Percentages in this game are talking about chances, not percentages as in amounts. Your dividing and calculating it as an amount. I suck at math and even I know this.

Going around screaming "omfg this helm sux omfgz0r lawll bbq sauze OH NOESZZZ!" 24/7 isn't going to stop people from wearing it. Its all about personal prefference. With the strength I see it better than elemental for melee situations. Unless you are somehow cursed by blizzard, you have more than 1 slot. Which means you can carry the sky and the elements at the same time via bag..and swap them when you PvP/Duel.

Ive seen pristines hit 900g on alliance, I got mine for 200 and my Azerothian for 2-4g. I prefer skyfury over Elements but it wont matter because when I get earthfury, it will be replacing both.

I'm not saying one thing is better than another, and I'm not here to say anyone's opinion is more or less right than anyone elses', but I do have to point out that Homer's math is right.

Say whatever you want about him or his opinions, but you can't bag on his math.&nbsp And it's not really advanced math, either.&nbsp It's algebra.&nbsp Base algebra, even.&nbsp Everyone here is definitely entitled to their opinions, and I'm sure they're all valid to one degree or another.&nbsp But 8th grade algebra isn't a matter of opinion at this point.&nbsp And it's not "theory" either.&nbsp It's pretty simple and factual.

That's all.

p.s. For the record, I'm an Enhancement spec'd shaman.&nbsp I like this helm, and look forward to wearing it someday.

Its a chain you have to do this quest first to get the next quest i beleive, is the helm even worth the 2 diamons, i mean if u have enough for the ediamonds can't you just get an epic helm instead?

I would take this helm simply because it would be easy to get, and it is pretty good. Altough the lack of int kinda sucks, it's still a decent helm. The +2% spell crit is great too. And PBD go for 80s each on my server =D.

i know all this is old talk.. but.. here is %s for you guys in games... this is a % ON HIT not a fraction of the time you are guaranteed 1/100 with 1% crit... this means on each hit you have a 1% chance of critting, it doesn't mean that if you don't crit this one all the sudden the next one is 1/99 or x/99 since you don't really know when that 1 crit is gonna show up out of the next 100 hits... the way you see it as in your "mathematical" bull!@#$ is you're gonna get on average 1 in 100 crits.. which is not the case, no matter how long you run the experiment. 99% crit will end up being 99.99% as is EACH time you roll the dice if you have a particular 99% chance on rolling it EACH time you will almost always guaranteed get it, it's not diminishing each time you do get successful.. it's not like ohhhh no.. that's 1/15% gone next hit is 14% ... you realize odds right? 99% is amazingly higher than 80% same as 1% to 2% because 80% you still have a remote chance to hit regular hits say maybe... 10 in a row.. after that mathematics takes over and rules it out because this is a machine, a server run by blizzard with calculators...

basically... if i have a 99% chance to crit it's gonna be more

if it's a ONE in ONE HUNDRED that's a set value. yea you could end up failing 2.. or even 5 out of 100 but because of 99% it's almost impossible, if you've ever used damage meters, and your crit % stays the same for you as listed in your spells and abilities.. you just probably got the only coincidence that ever happened ... ever..

and if you say crit% doesn't matter... if we use fractions just as an example not the actual explanation .. 20% is 1/5 25% is 1/4... that's a hell of a big difference.. for only 5% crit. but as i said before it's based on each hit.. so now you have a 1/4 chance to crit on each hit... and if you take 8 swings... the chance of all being crits is 1/32 ... you do the same thing with 20% it's 1/40 .. see that i mean? at 99% ... the chance to not get crits every time.. for 8 swings.. 1/792, all of this just gets you more lost

WHICH IS MY POINT LET THE CALCULATORS IN GAME DO IT FOR YOU, it's basically like /roll 1-100 as somone said forever ago, extra % only helps a tiny margin and can be nerfed for attacks and attacks in a row- technically someone at 99% could never crit till the end of time and someone with 1% could crit every time..but we all know it won't happen

the way i see it %s should never be calculated till after it has happened, because if you give something a chance, then measure the chances it will pretty much never be the same it can come out pretty close within about ~1% of your actual % but that's what is expected so who even cares... every situation is new and different
