Bring 5 Savannah Lion Tusks, 5 Plainstrider Kidneys, and 1 Thunder Lizard Horn to Brewmaster Drohn in Ratchet.

Description

Would you like a taste of Chen's namesake? Ahh, the stormstout is a mighty brew. Chen taught the recipe to my mentor, and my mentor passed it on to me. I'll need you to get me a few things, but I can tell you this: the kick is worth it.

Bring me 5 savannah lion tusks from any savannah lion, 5 plainstrider kidneys from any plainstrider, and 1 thunder lizard horn from any species of thunder lizard. That should do the trick nicely.

You can find these ingredients throughout the Barrens.

Plainstriders can be found just on the road from Camp Taurajo to Crossroads, Savannah Prowlers are to the left coming out of Ratchet, and Thunder Lizards can be found on the road that leads to Thousand Needles from Camp Taurajo.

The plainstriders is around crossroads,
u find em EVERYWHERE and u need the kidney,

Thuner Horn u find on 47,48.

and the lions: 53,16 its ALOT of them there.

The Tusks can be found from any animal that has "Savahnna" in it's name. I found a nice amount of these just a bit north off Crossroads.
The Plainstrider's Kidney is found from the Plainstriders. Just travel around the Crossroads to find these.
For the Thunder Lizard, you may find a few south of Camp Taurajo. If you are close to the Wailing Caverns, there is a few Thunder Lizards there too.

Note, that this quest is repeatable. Since patch 2.0, Blizzard also gives 250 reputation even to 60s doing lowbie quests, so this is a great way to get the Exalted before the Expansion hits.

Dont know if it is repeatable still, but the drops are fairly decent....the thunder lizard horn you can get near Camp Taurajo, all other drops come from various types of plainstriders and lions........good to do in conjunction with other quests cause you can do it as you work on others.

There are level 18 and 19 thunder lizards (called Stormsnouts) at 47, 47 and that general area.

Hey all,

All of these items will be found in The Barrents only from my experiance. I went to the thunder lizards by orgrimar but they never dropped the horn. Please be aware these items don't drop very often at all so it does take a lot longer than expected but is still fun.

FYI...it's not a Stormsnout. You have to look a bit east of Camp T (around 48,57) and look for a 19-21 creature that's has "thunder" in it's name.

At Camp Taurajo (45,59) there are thunder lizards next to the camp guards, simply hostile the lizards & pull them back to the guard. Easy :)

It finally dropped for me off of the Stormsnouts just north of Taurajo. Don't know if it'll drop off of other Barrens kodo, but it will on these, as long as you're patient.

51.21 is location that i found lions and plainstriders level 11 and 12 dropping quest items.

Thunder Horn 47,48 or north of Camp T for those without /tloc. Got it the first kill.

Savannah Lions 53,16 or by Sludge Fen. Savannah lions are the huntresses and prowlers. I had to kill 23 of them for the items.

Plainstriders they're all over but I killed the ones by Grol'dom Farm and it didn't take more than 12 kills.

Savannah Lion Tusks are dropped most by Savannah Highmanes, around the Crossroads.
Plainstrider Kidneys are dropped most by Fleeting Plainstriders, also around the Crossroads.
The horn -IS- dropped by the Stormsnout, just at a low rate. The thunderhead droprate is even lower though.

Is it possible to get Thunder Lizard Horn from Lvl9-10 Thunder Lizards in the valley NW of Razor Hill? The Log says you can get it from any kind of thunder lizards... and it would be just weird if you can't get a Thunder Lizard Horn from a Thunder Lizard... I've been killing them for more then 30 minutes but still got none.

There should only be only one hard part and that is getting the horn but that shouldnt be that difficult if u r level 15
For plainstrider kidneys kill any plainstrider I like fleeting plainstriders level 11-13
for the stuff off the savanah lions go and kill the ones right outside of XR they r levles 12-14
the horn go south inbetween razormane and Camp T and find a level 18 lizard not that hard level 14rouge

i got the kidneys in 5 min if u kill plainstriders nere the crossroads and 4 the Savana claws (or wot ever u nead from them) if u look nere the crossroad u can see some big trees under them r like male savana lions and have like 90% drop but can u kill the thunder lizards in Durator or is it the ones nere that Camp that if u go past u go to Thunder Bluff?

i found the lizard horn in Bramblescar just over the bridge on southern gold road they were lvl 18-20 and it had a good drop rate too i only had to kill 1 and i got the lizard horn

Ok, for starters. The beast you need to kill is a Stormsnout. Not a raptor. Maybe I was the only one confused by this but yeah...anyway. I was killing f'ing raptors for a while and tried a stormsnout...first one.&nbsp Dropped it. Anyway, I found it at

I killed Great(er?) Plainstriders near Xroads for kidenys.

Then I went to 51.20-52.30 around that killing Savannah Huntress's for tusks.
After it I only need to kill the enemy that drops the last item.

I found the most lions north east of Ratchet chords around 61, 32 and it seems that the patriarchs drop the best but this quest does take a while, b/c the drops aren't every kill.

Excellent quest for experience. Kidneys and lion tuscs can be found according to other posts.

As for the Thunder Lizards horn, better bring a friend. All the Thunderheads I have seen around Camp T are level 19 and up. As a level 14, I tried solo and almost got killed. Was able to run because they are slow.
Then with a Shaman level 20, we killed a level 19 easily and I got the horn on our first kill.
So, my conclusion is: bring a friend to your party, unless uou are level 17 or up.

OK, so the first bunch of items aren't that hard.

The kidneys are no probs. Just kill enough of the birds and you'll get 'em, the things are all over the place anyway.

Had difficulty finding lions that dropped tusks - the prowlers didn't, i completed the prowler claw quest and didn't get a single lion tusk - but the savannah huntresses did. Wipe out a nest of them & you should get all 5 tusks (got the 5th on the last one).

The thunder lizard horn is a whole different story. Killed two thunderheads just south of camp t - lvl 20 & red for me as a lvl 15 shammie - and didn't get a drop. Then I wandered over the road north, killed one (orange) lvl 19 Stormhide and got the horn =)

Not easy at all, I'm glad I had plenty of healing pots & was completely decked out in greens...

[red]Thunder lizard horns drops from thunder heads[/red]! I got my horn in first kill... Thunderheads are around lvl 20, and is found on the road from Camp taurajo down to 1k needles.

Greater Planestrider give the highest drop rate, if the only drop rate (had no luck with other types) for the kidneys. they're about 30second walk west of crossroads, north of the path.
