Description

Good stuff, that stormstout, huh?

I have another recipe that I learned from Chen. Would you be interested? It won't take long to make, and it might be useful if you plan on adventuring some more.

Bring me 5 lightning glands from any stormhide, 1 thunderhawk saliva gland from greater thunderhawks, and a kodo liver from any of the Barrens' kodos.

Like I said, this stuff has kick; it's the trogg ale that I mentioned to you before.

The problem people are having with the lightning gland I reckon is that it drops from the stormHIDES way south and not the stormSNOUTS or stormHEADS. The stormhides begin to appear at 46,72 along with a greater thuinderhawk or two. All are about lvl 22-23 and the Kodos are here too, but in a group. If you cant take them together its no problem, they can be found wandering anywhere in the barrens, particularly around the oases.

Hope I've been helpful

Got kodo liver from Lost Barrens Kodo, just south of Lushwater Oasis.&nbsp Lightning Glands I got from Stormhides in Field of Giants, just off Southern Gold Road south of Camp Taurajo.&nbsp Got the Thunderhawk Saliva Gland from a greater thunderhawk in same location as Stormhides.&nbsp

Exp and reputation:
1st part of quest: 625 exp and 50 Orgrimmar reputation
2nd part of quest: 825 exp and 50 Orgrimmar reputation
3rd part of quest: 975 exp and 50 Orgrimmar reputation

You can repeat 3rd part of quest as many times as you want to, it seems.&nbsp It took my 22 undead priest about 1.5 hours to complete all 3 parts of this quest.

It's a reputation-farming quest, a low level alternative to farming cloth.

This step (the last step of the quest chain) is repeatable.&nbsp It is still green at 31, but at 32 it goes grey and rewards signifigantly less exp/rep.&nbsp The first time you turn it in, it rewards 50 Org rep (plus 10? cross-rep with other horde factions) and 975xp.&nbsp Every time you repeat it you get 30 Org rep (plus 8-9 cross-rep with other horde factions) and 575xp.

The Kodo livers drop off any Kodo in The Barrens, but appear to be less frequent from lower level Kodo.&nbsp The Lightning and Saliva Glands drop only from Stormhides and Greater Thunderhawks that are found south of the Field of Giants.&nbsp Of course the drop rates are higher than Anonymous suggests because thott also counts kills from players not on the quest, who will never see these drops.&nbsp The liver drops about 1/2 of the time off the higher Kodo that roam in groups of 4 near the Stormhides, the Saliva glands drop about 1/3 of the time and the the Ligthning glands drop somewhere between 1/3 and 1/2 of the time.

Had some trouble soloing a Kodo as the pack of four in the Southern Barrens would beat me down.&nbsp There is a single Kodo on the ridge just south of Ratchet that will drop the liver within a couple kills.

On my first toon, first time.&nbsp On the second I had to kill him twice to get the drop.

You can do this quest over again. Lightning Gland & Thunderhawk Saliva Gland are easily found down
South around Gann on the Gold Road. Kodo Liver was easier found up North of The Berrens around
the 1st Samophlange quest area.

If any of you have played warcraft 3, you'll know that no matter how bad the drop rate is, its worth it to honor chen stormstout, the coolest pandaren brewmaster ever. If you give up the quest, prepare to get thrashed! (unless you get the reference)

Since none have made any note list for this quest i'll just go ahead and do it.
I've been doing this quest for some time now(thunderbluff rep - 18.75 per turnin -.-) and have figured out some of the points bellow:

- The Lightening Gland can ONLY be obtained from the Stormhides

- The best place to do this quest is around the entrance to Dustwallow from Barrens.

- The kodo "family" walking around in the southern barrens is very hard to find if you are actually looking for them. So if you see them while grinding the other quest items, drop whatever you're doing and kill the kodos.

And now for the most important one if you are going to farm this quest...

- The Stormhides SHARE SPAWN with the hyenas. I am not yet sure if the Greater thunderhawks also share the same spawn.
This means that if you go down there and only kill the mobs you need for the quest, you'll find the place overrun by hyenas within a few completes.

As an example:
>you kill Stormhide, making the spawn point he was using available.
>Now that the spawnpoint is "open" there is a chance that ANY of the mobs sharing that spawn can spawn there next. IE an hyena.
>You do not need hyenas so you don't kill them
>This in turn, ends with an overflow of hyenas, and close to none stormhides.

Best to do this quest between
Blood Shards of Agamaggan, Betrayal from Within (1), Betrayal from Within (2)
and Gann's Reclamation, Revenge of Gann (1) ,Revenge of Gann (2).

There's little to no reason to do this quest once you've reach Revered with Orgrimmar because by time you should be around lvl 30+ and the quests at that level have much better rewards.

I'm sure many of you have realized this quest is repeatable ! However, I have yet to read any comments that say this quest helps you gain Rep with Org. Very similar to the Morrow Grain quest for Rep with TB.... =) For those of you wishing to pay less for items and those interested in Wolf Mount this should be appealing ! Enjoy.

you can get the liver off kodo's at the lake, I just got one at stagnant.

975 may not be worth it XP wise, but I get 50 rep each time I complete it... Later on in the game that is well worth it right now.

Did this one as a side project of a few other more important quest. All the mobs can be found south of Camp Taurajo and or in that general area.

I finished all three of this quest and he did give it to me again. Going to finish this one again and see what happens.

My result:
You gain 1450 experience.
Your reputation with Orgirmmar has increased.

I can't say how often he'll drop it, but I got my liver from Lakota'mani, named Kodo, at about 46,50 I think.&nbsp A lot easier than wandering around looking for packs of kodos and having to try and take all 4 on at once.

How much faction do you get when it is yellow?

EDIT: I just did this while it was yellow. The first turn in is 50 rep to Ogrimmar. It spills over to the other factions, 13 for the others if I could recall correctly.

At level 24(repeated quest turn in):
975 exp
50 Ogrimmar faction
12-13 for the other horde factions.

At level 25 and 26 it's the same reward(still yellow).
At level 27 it's the same reward(now green).

meh the drop rates for the thunder glands are stupid i'm making the stormsnouts go extinct!

Giving up on this quest for a bit however no doubt it'll forever taunt me in my to-do list.. Why not fully abandon? because the thunderhawk gland and kodo liver are stealing inventory slots thats why :@
For wanting 5 of these stupid glands, the drop rates appauling.

I killed all lvl's of these things, and ONLY got drops off the lvl 23+ lizards in Southern Barrens.

Dont waste your time on the other ones, as if they do drop them, its rare. Once I moved into Southern Barrens and killed lvl 23's, it took about 5 minutes to get them all. I wasted 30+ minutes on the lower lvl ones.
