Gann's Reclamation

Gann Stonespire wants you to kill 15 Bael'dun Excavators and 5 Bael'dun Foremen.

Bring Khazgorm's Journal to Gann Stonespire.
  •
Bael'dun Excavator slain (15)
  •
Bael'dun Foreman slain (5)
Khazgorm's Journal

Description

In solitude I wander these roads.

The dwarves of Bael Modan show no respect for my land. Horrendous blasts drive holes deep into the ground as noisy machines rip apart the hills. Lands which once served as home and provider to my tribe are now riddled with destructive dwarves.

Attempts at reaching a diplomatic resolution have failed. Now is the time for decisive action.

Drive the dwarves from the Bael Modan excavation by force and bring to me the journal of their leader, Prospector Khazgorm.

Path down into the excavation is at around 46, 85.

Found Khazgorm at 47,85, fairly near the little tent place with the Cauldron at the front. Easy to kill.

The Foreman are abit of a pain in the ass 'cos they're few and far between and 2-3 excavators always seem to be in the way of getting to them. All the dwarves try flee when low on health too so try slow/stop them bringing their bearded buddies back with them.

Peace n' gl.

The prospector respawns in different places, and then doesn't roam much.&nbsp I found him once behind the tent, once at the bottom of the ramp at the very start of the excavation, and once hidden way in the back of the excavation behind a fallen pillar.
The dorfs run when they get low, then you agro more dorfs, so you need some crowd control.&nbsp Also they breed like bunnies, but they make a very satisfying thump.

As far as I know Prospector Khazgorm spawns in 3 different locations (all 3 are down in the mine pit):

1. In the center
2. Behind the tents
3. Near the back corner past the tents behind the left side of the fallen pilar

It's a pretty far walk to 46,85, so I recommend that if you have done the Tribes at War quest from Mangletooth, get 10 Blood Shards and get the Spirit of the Wind from him (requires level 20).

I waited a while in the middle by the cauldron and tents, and he never spawned,so i went to the back far corner, and was just clearing out the area when he spawned on me as i was fighting 2 other's,nearly wiped me too,but managed to kill him with the help of a health potion. So i would suggest the far corner,if looking for him.

EDIT:
Forgot to mention,if you don't have a slowing spell(frost shock, hamstring etc)i wouldn't bother, the mobs run like Linford Christie when they are low on health, and WILL gather up a load of other's to gang you.

keep running south along the gold road, you cant miss it, it's on the left.

the prospector is right at the back of the open cast mine.

It's pretty easy, as long as you don't agro too many.

Also, its worth pointing out that no less than three rare-elites are in the proximity of this mine - a green Thunder Lizard just north of it and two dwarves (explosions and stonework expert) in the mine itself.

These are not always there obviously, but being 24 elites its worth keeping an eye out for either avoiding an accidental pull on them, or getting some nice loot of them :)

The boss that drops the journal is lvl 26 and almost always has adds.&nbsp Attempted this at lvl 21.&nbsp Killing the other guys wasn't a problem, but it was impossible to kill the prospector, as he was red.&nbsp This is a lvl 26 quest in reality.

Soloed as a 24 warrior just now. The entire line, in fact. I admit without hamstring I may have had a few scrapes but it's such a big wide space why can't you just run away until the adds deaggro?

I just did this quest with a 23 Warlock, and have only been playing Warcraft for about a week now. With a Warlock, this quest was by no means difficult. Keep your best wand in hand and let your Voidwalker tank. Walk within range of an enemy and use Curse of Agony to pull them away. CTRL+1 to send your Voidwalker after him which will immediately begin casting Torment to keep the aggro on him. Cast Immolation and Corruption, then just start unloading with your wand (it may be tempting to blast them with a bolt, but just using your wand allows time for mana regen). At no point should the enemy turn to aggro you. When they get low on health, they'll run, but none made it more than five steps or so. Some didn't even get a chance to run.

The point is to keep the enemy as close to you as possible. If you have any way to damage them with range (+1 for casters/hunters), that is your best bet even when you're toe-to-toe.

Khazgorm was defeated primarily by my Voidwalker since I accidently aggro'd an Excevator in the process of dotting Khazgorm, I kept on the Excevator while I left my Voidwalker to beat on the afflicted Khazgorm.

Just take them one at a time, and it's cake.

Quest was easy for lvl 24 Warlock. Hardest part was waiting for Gann to show up again. He had apparently been killed. Finally found him south of 46,75 when he respawned.

If you crazy mages with your area effects and freezes are done being smug, here's some advice for the rest:

Mob quests with runners generally are not easy even if you can take one down fairly easily (without dying, that is), getting just one at a time is very hard unless you can time a freeze or stun just right. So maybe wait on this one until they turn green for you.

Or try partying. Seriously, are you afraid of cooties or something? You'll both get the quest done in half the time, if that.

And Khazgorm is in the pit, just keep looking.

this quest pretty much sucks. You can't do it solo if you are below 25.
I've just soloed this quest on my lvl19 mage (without dying)and completed it. You have to take things slowly and try to draw the dwarves from a long range and take them one by one. When a dwarf gets too near, frost nova and move back, then start bolting again.

As for Khazgorm, I managed to take him down by placing myself on the large log in the bottom area near the slope. When you hit Khazgorm with a fireball, he'll have to make quite a detour up the log to catch you, that's how you can reduce his hp dramatically before actually confronting a close fight with him. When he gets near, same thing. Frost Nova and move away, then start hitting.

But be warned, the lvl22+ mobs have quite a high resistance to spells from what I've experienced. If any of them resisted your spells twice, its best to run and come back to start a fresh fight.

Btw, I have to thank some priest earlier for buffing me with +20 stamina.

I use the Cosomos mod so the loc of Gann for me was 46,81 near a burning road marker (when he gave me quest and when i did hand in )
After fighting to the bottom of the pit Finding the 15 excavators and 5 foremans was fairly easy.
There were 2 silver elites 1 at edge and one near tent
The Prospector was to left of the tent in another little cutout Level 26

This Quest Sucks. No 2 ways about it. Even if you don't get an add while you are fighting them, you get one when the buggers run off. I died 4 times after I'd gotten all the excavators and foremen I needed cause Khazgorm wouldn't spawn...

The problem with this quest is that Gann keeps on getting killed by the Alliance as they wander down the Gold road so you can spend loads of time waiting for him to re-spawn!
