Supplies to Auberdine

Speak with Delgren the Purifier at Maestra's Post after seeing Feero safely through Ashenvale Forest.
  •
Protect Feero Ironhand

Description

Delgren has asked me to deliver messages and supplies to Sentinel Starbreeze in Auberdine, but I am loathe to leave on my own. Dangerous foes operate in the forest, and I do not wish to risk letting these supplies and information fall into the wrong hands.

If you and others could act as my guards, I could leave now. With your protection, I have no doubt that we can see these goods safely to Auberdine.

This quest involves escorting Feero Ironhand at normal player running-speed along the road from Maestra's Post in Ashenvale (26,38) to just over the border of Darkshore (43,94). Feero is ambushed three times by groups of specially-spawning quest mobs, but will also stop along the way to attack any wildlife that wanders into his aggro range. Following each attack, Feero runs back to the spot he was standing just before the ambush and says a line. After a few seconds he starts running again - eating, drinking, looting etc for too long will render you unable to catch him up without speed increasing abilities.

Note that, depending on your level and where you are standing on the road, the ambushers may aggro Feero instead of you (or your group). If they all target him at the start he will die very quickly, so make sure to quickly get the attention of as many mobs as possible if they do aggro him to start with. The quicker you do it, the fewer mobs you have to "tank" as he can quite easily survive the assault of one or two for a short time. Similarly, if they all target you to start with, Feero will pull aggro from the one he attacks unless you also attack it or cause threat from a damage shield, heal, etc.

First Ambush - Ashenvale, 25,30
Feero Ironhand says: It looks like we're in trouble. Look lively, here they come!
4x level 21 Dark Strand Assassins spawn. Regular melee mobs, will attempt to run away at low health (but will not bring adds when they do so, as there are no further adds to bring!).
Once they are dead,
Feero Ironhand says: Assassins from that cult you found... Let's get moving before someone else finds us out here.
Second Ambush - Ashenvale, 26,23
Feero Ironhand says: Hold! I sense an evil presence... Undead!
Forsaken Scout says: A paladin! Slaying him would please the master. Attack!
3x level 23 Forsaken Scouts spawn. One of them seemed to spawn a few seconds after the other two. Again these have no special abilities, and will attempt to run away at low health.
Once killed,
Feero Ironhand says: They're coming out of the woodwork today. Let's keep moving or we may find more things that want me dead.
Final Ambush - Darkshore, 43,94
Feero Ironhand says: These three again?
Balizar the Umbrage says: Not quite so sure of yourself without the Purifier, hm?
Feero Ironhand says: I'll finish you off for good this time!
Meanwhile 3 level 24 named satyrs have spawned and block the path:
Left (West): Caedakar the Vicious: fires lightning bolts. Attempts to run away at low health (but will turn around and start firing lightning bolts again if not killed). The other two satyrs do not run away (or maybe just died too quickly!).
Centre, front: Aligar the Tormentor: warrior-type (uses battle stance!), can hamstring.
Right (East): Balizar the Umbrage: fires shadow bolts and can cast curse of agony; has an imp pet which casts firebolts.
On their death,
Feero Ironhand says: Well done! I should be fine on my own from here. Remember to talk to Delgren when you return to Maestra's Post in Ashenvale.
The quest is "complete" at this point. Feero then runs a little distance up the road and despawns, allowing you to run back to Maestra's Post and hand in the quest.

I don't think you are eligible for this quest unless you have been doing the Tower of Althalaxx quests.&nbsp I had just finished the quest to kill Ilkrud Magthrull and bring his head back to Delgren at Maestra's post, and I noticed the yellow ! show up on Feero.&nbsp I could not share the quest, either.

Very easy quest with 4 20+ ppl. For the ease and short duration of the quest, the reward is very good.

You'll have to fight 3 groups of mobs in total. The first two attack Feero too, the third group, 3 level 24 demons, inore him completely and attack you. Infact, Feero just stands in front of them and they do nothing. Make sure not to let Feero get too far ahead of you.

The Tower of Althalaxx part 5 has to be completed in order to get this quest.

This quest is pretty hard and you'll probably not be able to solo it until at least level 26. You get ambushed three times. When I'm leveling a char and try doing this quest as soon as I finish The Tower of Althalaxx part 5 I get as far as the last ambush which consists of two spellcaster and one melee satyr. They hit pretty hard, so they'll kill you or the NPC easily(unless you're a hunter and thus can use your pet to seperate the 3 mobs on each one of you, then you might stand a chance).

I suggest trying to do this quest after turning in The Tower of Althalaxx part 6, which you should've done along with quests from Forrest Song and gained a level or two.

Did this with a full group of 5 -- 23 druid (me), 22 hunter, 2 x 21 warrior, 21 hunter, and it was easy.

Once started Feero _runs_ down the road to Darkshire, so be ready and take off after him. He stops twice, and when he stops be ready. Rogue-type mobs appear and start attacking him. React quickly to get their aggro, and it's not hard to burn them down -- they were levels 20, 21 if I recall.

Again, once all mobs are dead (or even before they are dead) Feero can take off down the road, so be ready and get on his heels. The last wave comes just after you get into Darkshore, and consisted of 3 named level 24 mobs.

Get them dead and you are done. Just follow him a little further into Darshore until he poofs, then hustle back to Maestra's Post to claim your reward -- 50 sp, a nice item and a whopping 2,900 exp for about 10, maybe 15 minutes of work.

I completed this quest as a 24 Hunter, with the assistance of a 24 Mage.&nbsp We almost didn't complete even then -- when fighting the last group of mobs, a pally coming along the road gave some much needed assistance.&nbsp It's not so much that we couldn't handle the mobs, it's that your lvl 20 quest giver can't handle them and dies.

I should note that you DO NOT go all the way to Auburdine.&nbsp You fight 3 different mobs along the road and just after entering Darkshore, you fight the last group and if successful, your quest giver says he can make it the rest of the way on his own.

i wonder why there's no info on this. the guy that starts the quest is at Maestra's Post in Ashenvale beside the other two guys that give you quests, outside the house. sometimes he has to respawn, not that long.

you have to run with him to auberdine killing bunches of monsters. so far the mobs were lvl 21, 23 and 24. i cant pass it yet, but i'll update this as soon as i do

Leveled my gnome in elven-land to get darnassus-rep but never did this quest at 22ish, since it was given by a Stormwind-"flagged" npc. (Hence i thought the quest gave mostly SW-rep...) Came back at 34 after completing Tower of Althalaxx (or w/e) and figured id give it a shot..

Anyways it gave me 500 Darnassus-rep :)

The thing with this escort quest that is sad is that the guy you escort is SO weak.&nbsp He can't even take on 1 assassin(!) himself out of 4, without dying...

One strat that works really well as a mage though, is this - if you stay back as suggested, you can pull all 4 assassins to u, nova them, then kite them away from the escort guy.&nbsp IF you pull them far enough away from him, he never engages, and after like 20 secs, he runs along to the next event!&nbsp You can just kite them off him a bit, then blink run to catch up, and u never have to kill the assassins...

Anyway, gl

Well, I gave this a try as a NE Hunter at level 20, solo. Big mistake. Although the path was clear on the way in, once Feero starts walking, assassins pop in from at least 3 directions. I did not manage to kill even one before they backstabbed me to the graveyard. Also, I only saw 1 wave of mobs, may be more. I would imagine you'd need at least 3 players guarding Fero to do this comfortably. But hey, the reward is awesome.

Don't understand why that is, considering you have to fight 5 lvl 24's at the end and the guy is only lvl 20. My druid can't even heal him before they kill, they do it to fast. Really need to be orange at my lvl, this one is a real pain by yourself.

This thing really should show a group needed in the quest log. He *says* "if you and others act as my guards" and he means it. First time I tried I got to the second mob spawn, which is 3 undead scouts. I didn't realize one of them was on the NPC instead of me and he died right as I killed the second mob. Second time I tried, I had them all on me (level 24 druid) and killed them. I'm on a PvP server and there had been a ?? shaman running around that had killed me earlier so we set off towards the border, I'm scanning over my shoulder hoping we'll hit friendly territory. We do, and I start to breathe easier. Sadly, about 5 seconds later 3 named satyr pop out, one summons an imp, they all start casting spells (2 at the NPC, the third on me as I charged him in bear) and before I had the guy at half life, the NPC was dead. I died shortly thereafter, and about the only good news there is that I was 10 feet from the closest graveyard. Don't do this quest without at least 2 people, maybe even 3 for the fight at the end.

I completed it with only slight difficulty as a level 26 shaman, mostly using Stoneclaw Totem to keep the mobs off of him at the beginning of the fight while I picked one or two off.

An important note here, the escort npc CAN be healed.

He only has 480 health, so my current rank of Lesser Healing wave healed a good chunk of it. Simple healing aggro kept the mobs off of him and on me for the most part after my totem died, though I did have to use a potion on the second fight because my heals were being knocked back too much for me to heal myself.

The third fight was a piece of cake, I just let him tank the warrior while I interrupted the spells of the casters with Earth Shock.

doable at 25 as warlock. i failed the first time, but i managed to get it next time.

trick was: running a little ahead of the npc so you can easily tab targets. i used the suffering from my voidwalker to taunt all the mobs, meanwhile i corrupted and agonyed all and then i aoe'ed the bunch. i was basically done then. because of the initial aoe-aggro to my pet they did not harm the npc too much :)

lock ftw!

Did this last night with my 29 hunter and my bf's 22 warlock. Used freeze traps to slow them down, hit each with serpent sting for nature damage while my wolf and his Voidstalker kept them occupied, then hammered with multishot. Had to do a little healing after each fight, but when it was over, we were both surprised. Quick and dirty for good money.

How I did this:
Kept off the road, stayed east of the road,
fairly close to it,
nothing aggroed except for a moonstalker, easily killed.

I read the quest again and it said to talk to Delgrin afterwards, but however, Feero was standing there the whole time. Didn't budge. So i abandon, start it again and he sits, I run ahead, then around, and come back, and he's still hangin out, playin nintendo. What gives?

If you just turn into Cat form (Druids) and run along with him. Then, when he stops be ready to Invis and sneak up ahead of him. When he starts running again just repeat this. It might take some practice but you can redo the quest several times until you get it right.

If you keep well out ahead of him, the assassins will spawn, but won't agro him. The spawned mobs will only agro you if you get close to them. If you stay well out in front of Feero, they just sit and stare at each other for a bit and then Feero starts walking again.

Just be careful to be well out in front when you cross into Darkshore. Three satyr spawn in front of Feero, right on the path. Again they'll just stare at each other for a bit, and eventually the satyr despawn and the quest is completed. You don't even need to fight anything.

Lvl27 hunter, Draenei but I didn't use my racial heal... Didn't bandage, didn't use pots, didn't go under half health. Pet's not even high-aggro or high-dps.

The trick is to take aggro off Feero as quickly as possible. All the mobs will try to go for him first but despite his low HP he hits like a truck soak up all the damage you can and he'll deliver the finishing blows.

I tried following the stay in front/stay behind advice given here, and as a solo Hunter neither worked. Each time Feero was attacked and slaughtered in seconds. I managed to wipe out half of the mob and take the other half down considerably before I was killed.

Guess I'll either look for a group or just come back when I'm a higher level.

definitely agree this is a no go...they must have fixed this quest in the sense that running ahead/behind would prevent the mobs from attacking Feero and/or your character. They sliced him up no matter if I was a little bit or a lot ahead of him (to the point where I could barely see him on screen). Need to be at least high 20's to do this in terms of fighting with Feero if doing solo.

Ok so this quest IS sort of part of a chain.
It is part of the Tower of Althalaxx, you get it right after you turn in Part 5 of the chain. AKA the part where you Bring Ilkrud Magthrull's Tome to Delgren the Purifier at Maestra's Post.
Upon turning it in the Supplies to Auberdine opens up.

I did this quest solo as a lvl 28 Priest, though i do not recommend doing that, i was very long and tough, i was near death & out of mana quite alot.
However i do recommend going w/ a healer of somekind, he dies easily. The mods lvls of the mobs range between 20-24 or so.

I would advise you to go w/ at least 1 other person if you are a lvl 26+, and to make sure one of you is a constant healer of course i recommend a priest because of Power Word: Shield. For anyone that is 24-25, take a group of 2-3 ppl and make sure you have a healer. Also if you are 22 and under, make sure you take a full group, w/ a healer to heal the guy.

Also turn in is located at the same place you got the quest.

23 Mage and 24 Druid,

Stayed close to him down the path, then used Arcane Explosion with Druid healing to take all the mobs down at once, then run ahead and drink some conjured water to make sure your mana is back up for the next attack.

Provided you have a healer of some kind with you to heal the mage doing AoE it works fine and is pretty easy.

L28 Shaman has done it.
After two failed fights, i realize the problem: i cannot see the health of Feero. I have no time for mouseover tooltip.
When must i heal? Thanks, there is function Focus. Thus before you start quest, do /focus on Feero. Now you can see his health easy.
I use also Stoneclaw Totem to make lesser aggro at him for a while. And Magma Totem for more area damage.
Two fights are without problem. 1 healing in second fight needed.
Third is more heavy, thus i cast quickly Gift of the Naaru at him, which keep him healed for a while. I earthshock both casters first, while warrior hit Feero (with GotN spell) I keep only eye on Feero health and heal him with Lesser Heal 1 time.
Perhaps you need 1 health drink for it, and you have done three fights.
