Test of Lore

Find the Legacy of the Aspects and return it to Braug Dimspirit near the entrance to Talondeep Path in Stonetalon Mountains.
Legacy of the Aspects

Description

You have passed Dorn's tests, and now you seek to pass your next trial. Very good. But up until now, your challenges have been childish. It is easy to test your body--your mind is another matter completely.

I shall explain it simply: find the book I name, study it, and answer my question about its contents.

What book, you must be asking? The Legacy of the Aspects. It can be found at the bottom of Dor'danil in southern Ashenvale, protected by the dead druids and their slayers.

People who don't read and cannot comprehend simple instructions should not be allowed to play this game. Here are the answers.

1) Dor'Danil is in Ashenvale. Almost directly South of Splintertree Post and almost to the mountains. The area it's in is called Felfire. (If you are Horde you've FLOWN OVER that area many times)
http://www.goblinworkshop.com/mapper.html?AreaID=253&RecordID=5672&Type=1

2)Dor'Danil looks like a little house with a path that leads deep down underground. It's a little confusing inside but once you get your bearings you'll find the book on a table on a raised circular area.

3)The "GOT STUCK IN A CROUCH BUG", my advice is either tough luck and start it again or tell a GM.

4) When you return the book to Braug Dimspirit, FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS WARCRAFT JUST READ THE DAMN BOOK! Don't be lazy, it has some interesting info in it.

5) Here's what to do when ANSWERING HIS QUESTION:
(READ THIS CAREFULLY!)
Talk to Him
The dialogue window opens.
There's a question and 4 answers.
Pick the right one.
The window automatically closes.
Now Talk to him again...
This time you see the SAME question and 4 answers again. DON"T CLICK AN ANSWER! WHY? you ask.
Because this time there's another option to pick. It has a ? mark beside it. CLICK THAT ONE!
CONGRATULATIONS!

6) If you are a level 30+ or have a couple of friends with you this quest should take less than a half hour. The hardest part is not getting lost.

7) Parqual Fintallas is in Undercity. Go to the "Apothecarium" (check your map). Once you're there you'll find him standing on the bridge. If you still can't find him turn the game off and sleep.

8) In the Scarlet Monastery (Yes this part will be much tougher with elites and whatnot so you may have to level up a bit before continuing) the book you are looking for is to the lower left of the red book in the picture at the bottom of this page.
http://mage.worldofwar.net/modules.php?op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&req=viewarticle&artid=52

9) Give the Book to Parqual. He asks you a question. Follow the steps for answering him just like you did for Braug. Then head back to Thousand Needles for a reward.

REWARDS: CHOICE OF:
Dancing Flame (Wand) 32.1 DPS / 1.40 SPD / FIRE
Windstorm Hammer (1H Mace) 22.1 DPS / 2.10 SPD / 5 STA 4 STR
+ All of the XP you got from doing all the different parts of this quest!

-------------------------------------------------
That's it. Done. If anyone still can't understand then by order of me you are no longer allowed to play World of Warcraft.

Break the CD's & Format your hard drive.

When you go in the house which leads into a cave follow the path down. When you reach the first junction turn left then take another quick left. If you follow this path it will lead to a little platform in the centre of the room and the book is on the table.

I have yet to see clear, simple directions regarding how to find the book, so I will do so myself.

Once you are inside the Dor'danil Barrow Den, follow the path until you get to the first large room. You should see one path leading down, one bridge going strait, and another bridge going right. Take the path that leads down, and then go left into the next tunnel.

Follow this until you reach the next large room, where you should see a central platform with a bridge leading strait and another walkway that goes to the lower level. The book is on a small rock podium on the central platform.

There should be more quests like this which forces people to actually pay attention to lore stuff and rewards people who already do.

It shouldn't just be about loot and b.net kiddies spamming in Org. It should be a persistent world that the player could make an impact on.

Cords for the entrace is: 76,75

The "Legacy of the Aspects" is to be found all the way down in the cave, where Cavenclaw or what's his name spawn in the Teldrasill cave.

I could easily stealth down as a level 29 Tauren Druid in Catform, but I think fighting your way down may require some more manpower.

To find the book in Ashenvale: go to the Dor'Danil Barrow south of Splintertree at tloc 76,75 or so. Go down, down, and to the western side where there is a round circle platform. Book is on pedestal there easy to miss.

When you get the question, you have 4 choises of answer! I will just tell you, that it's the 2. answer, that is the right answer! I first picked number 4 and then number 3! Each time your answer is wrong, you will be teleported to Camp Turaja, and that really sucks! So answer number 2, is the right answer!

1. Head to Warsong Labor Camp, in Ashenvale.&nbsp This is located just off the main trail heading north from The Barrens.

2. From the giant log being suspended by the crane, head directly NE, for not very long at all.&nbsp You'll see what looks like a Night Elf house.&nbsp Head inside.

3. Follow a long downward-spiraling path until you reach an open area.&nbsp There is a bridge heading straight, a bridge heading right, and a hard-to-spot path to the left immediately as you enter the open area.&nbsp Take the hard-to-spot path.

4. Follow the path until you reach another open area.&nbsp There's a bench or small table, with a book on it.&nbsp This is the book you want.&nbsp Use the book to put it in your inventory.

5. Return to Smaug Dimspirit in Stonetalon Mountains.

6. READ THE BOOK.

7. Answer his question.&nbsp Personal observation is that the second choice is always correct, but I can't verify that.&nbsp If you answer it incorrectly, you'll be teleported to Camp Taurajo in The Barrens.&nbsp If you answer it correctly, he'll get a question mark over his head.

8. Right-click him again.&nbsp This time, instead of choosing the answer, choose the quest dialog (i.e. the part that says "? Test of Lore").&nbsp Complete the quest.

9. Travel to Undercity to find Parqual.&nbsp I found him on a bridge leading to the Apothecary, but he could move around some.

You do NOT need to keep re-answering the question.&nbsp If you answer it correctly, talk to him again.&nbsp Yes, the question will be there to answer again, but, in yellow, Quest of Lore ? will appear.&nbsp Click that to finish the quest, after you've answered the question.&nbsp It's not bugged.&nbsp Just click the Quest part and dont re-answer the question

I read all the comments and it said the podium which the book is on blends in with everything. Not really...I just didn't see it the first time because I was really tired when I did this leg of the quest.

Once you get into the Den, the trick is to go down. That is what I did. I just saw a path that led down and I took it.

Eventually, I saw on my mini map a little lone tunnel that led to another room above me. I checked it and you'll see some NPC but, that isn't the room to be in.

The little floating platform that you get on to to get to that small room is where the podium will be. The podium is that silvery-white swirly design that you see in everything NEs do.

Just use a bit of common sense and you'll find it. And the book is a good read, too.

If this is a horde only quest so why bother putting forsaken guards here, other than to stop allys looting the chests for free? Is there a separate ally quest in this area?
One other thing, if the forsaken are horde friendly and the druids are ally friendly, why dont they attack each other? That would be fun!

I fyou dont have cosmos, like me, Dor Danil is near the orc camp off the road coming from the barrens.&nbsp To get there from Talondeep Path, go back to the main road and heads toward Splintertree Post. After you cross the river take the first right onto the path that leads you to the Barrens. Then take the only left and go to the Warsong Labor Camp.&nbsp Go straight past the labor camp and you will see some light post that lead you up a little hill where the Dor' Danil Barrow Den is.
