for anyone who thinks that the quest rewards arnt worth the effort, how much of those 2 books did you read, or did you just thottbot the answers how much of the warcraft pre-text, do you know, or do you just thottbot it, for someone who has never been in this realm before this quest is ideal it teaches&nbsp them the backgeround of the wworld you are playing in, the dev team has put years into devoloping this world in which we play, and that seems to be forgotton in your race to lvl 60. excellent quest imo for those who want to learn about the enviroment that they spent so much time in.

All in all this chain quest gives:

17600 xp
500 rep with DsT
500 rep with Org
500 rep with SM
1400 rep with TB
725 rep with UC

You forget that not all quests have to end in good rewards. For a new player, these quests are invaluable. This is probably one of the first mentions of SM that a new player will find--thus they have motivation to go & explore.

You also forget all of the experience across a large spectrum of levels for this chain.

In short, relax.

I got this game because i wanted to continue the story of the last series.
This quest chain does an Excellent job of explaining the previous games (or summing them up). and it was a nice refresher.
For those who power-lvl through the game and don't pay any attention to the story what-so-ever you're not Getting your money's worth.
the wand is a small step up, but still a step up from what i have. and i gladly accept it as my reward.
if your an ignorant 13 year old that just wants to have the best lewt and wants to rip on blizzard and call people stupid #$%s and such all the time, stop playing.
Oh and for the quest, run around UC til you find him, don't be lazy,&nbsp half the fun of the game is exploring, and to Experience everything they created and put into it.

This is just going back to talk to the original "Test of.." quest giver... Remember he's in the cave in 1K... You talked to him for the "Test of Faith" quest...

Oh and Grats on getting this done...

Windstorm Hammer 1H-Mace (Main Hand), was best 29-melee twink weapon because it could be enchanted with mongoose etc. (Horde)
http://classicdb.ch/?item=17039 (Skullbreaker) is better choise for casters. (Horde)
http://classicdb.ch/?item=2044 (Crescent of Forlorn Spirits) 1h-axe, good choise for paladins and shamans. (Alliance)
http://classicdb.ch/?item=2000 (Archeus) 2h-sword, not so good but still tbc-enchantable. (Alliance)

All these items does not require over level 30+ to complete quest, totally completable at 29, some at 28 or earlier.
All of them can be enchanted with TBC-enchants.

i tend to agree that they want you to explore and the xp was pretty good all together, but usually quests that take you into an instance have better rewards, especially if they have a chain of several quests leading up to them.&nbsp whether or not the rewards were good enough, (blizzard can do what they want to do with the game) i do think it's true that people's expectations are built up throughout the chain and it was a pretty big letdown to see that mace and wand.&nbsp it starts out as a test of who your character is,&nbsp and after passing all the tests they give you a crappy reward(is that all my character is worthy of!). so while you learn the lore and travel to places you should have already been, you come out feeling like you proved your worth for nothing.

okay the Quests for this item go as follows: if your a twink you need to know this, incase you are close to level capping

1050 1. Test of Faith
2450 2. Test of Endurance
3050 3. Test of Strength
1200 4. Test of Lore
1850 5. Test of Lore
0250 6. Test of Lore
1200 7. Test of Lore
2100 8. Test of Lore
0250 9. Test of Lore
4200 10. Final Passage
---------
17600 exp TOTAL Account for an additional 2-4k for mobs when traveling with a 70 or 2
so 20-21k exp.. if alone.. you face a much higher rate of exp..
The best idea i can give you is to have the person(s) helping you clear the way to the objective with you out of party as much as possible.. making sure not to attack, this means taking off a shield that may do damage to an opponent so that you do not gain exp for someone accidently attaking you, when in the instance.. remain outside as to not get unnecessary experiece, the book you need is on a table.. it requires no fighting on your part.. you may even be able to ask a group who is in SM to simply let you retain the group so that you can loot the book.. this may be a "more practicle" solution if you do not have the resources availible to get a runner.
if you are doing this quest you may want to also think about doing the quests for the marbled buckler as well..

Not only does this quest take you to lots of different places and meet lots of different people.
It also gives you a reason to learn the lore and history of such a large world. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that the instance (SM) was respawning before I could read all the lore books :(.

Then again, the only other two MMORPG's i've played has had a story line that was influenced by the gaming population, so yeah, I like the lore in almost any game, especially if I have to search for it.

This quest was probs created for people who need abit for a tuneup on the important bits of the storyline, the dragon question for example told us about Deathwing (( Father of Onyxia and Nefarian )) and the other told about the lich king. May i remind you all these things pop up at higher level. The deathwing and other dragonflight facts = Caverns of time, Nefarian and Onyxia. The lich king question = talks abit in naxx at the end.

Now the story was created to keep you playing and so the game doesnt turn into some crappy run round and hit things to level game, the game is more complicated with quests and all that give small stories. If you dont like the story then just go grind from 1 - 70 then because if a quest said 'Go kill 3 tigers, it gives a small bit of xp' and EVERY quest said something similar i'd get bored pretty quick.

MOGRAINES MIGHT FTW!

Let me get this straight. People are complaining about the quest rewards, when it gives 500 Rep with every Horde faction? That's a total of 2500 rep points just on the last leg of the chain, and all you have to do is talk to an NPC. This is without a doubt one of the best reputation building quests in the entire game. As a BE that's going for exalted rep with UC for the mount, this chain was very valuable.

if you do library around 33-34, this is prolly going to be the main hand that gets you through to your sword of omen. it has the same base dps as the Electrocutioner's Leg from gnomer, and you dont have to roll on a thing to get this. If you wait until level 40 and do all the SM runs at once, then this is definently a lousy reward... just dont wait :)

Then, too bad that the quest requires level 30. )

This might have been changed in some patch though, and it's not enitrely sure that the level req. is correct.
