The actual place where he is loacated is called Theramore Isle.

Most people know of it.

I guess I am the first to add to this quest.&nbsp From the tavern in Menethil Harbor head towards the dock .&nbsp Run along the left side of the dock till you reach the end.&nbsp Wait for the boat, which will take you to Theramore.&nbsp Once in Theramore, exit the boat and head for Foothold Citadel which is located at 67,47.&nbsp He is located upstairs in the main chamber.&nbsp

In the same chamber, you can complete part of another quest in a series, unfortunately i can't remember the name of it. :(

I just killed him last night on the second try, as a 32 Pally.&nbsp The first try I didn't realize the two guards were going to come to his aid.&nbsp I died rather quickly.

The second time I used a bit of strategy.&nbsp I went across the road from the Hendel camp. I got a Raptor to chase me and I ran it towards the two guards.&nbsp They proceeded to fight the Raptor. I immediately accepted the quest to fight Hendel.&nbsp I hit him a couple times and ran toward the tower. He followed far enough to have the tower guards attack him.&nbsp Then he ran back to the camp.&nbsp By the time I got there he was already conceding defeat.&nbsp The Archmage and Lady Proudmore appeared and I finished the quest.&nbsp I got some decent XP and a nice ring.

There may be better ways to solo this part of the quest.&nbsp But this worked out great for me!

Upstairs in Foothold Citadel, which is on Theramore Isle to the right after you leave the docks.

Ok, here's what I did as a level 34 druid.

I accepted the quest, then used Cheetah and ran straight over to the tower which caused them to give up. After that Higel becomes an invalid target, but this is ok. I went back over to the two sentries, rooted one and took out the remaining one on one. Then I dragged the last sentry over to the tower after the roots wore off (this time he followed me up onto the tower steps) and they killed him for me. Next, I quickly abandoned quest, turned my back on the camp and waited like 10 seconds. I turned back around and Higel had the exclamation over his head and no guards around him so I was able to solo him. Once you get him down to about 30% you're done bc people come to take him. I got good exp, gold, and a ring for this quest :) It's&nbsp not bad at all! :)

I don't know if this is the best or most efficient way to go about doing it, but it worked for me and that's what counts!

he's in the foothold citadel, enter, take a left, take a right, take a right, the staircase will be on your left, when you get up the stairs, take a left, and he'll be in the big main room...and the coords are actually 68, 48

If you fail killing Private Hendel you can just abandon the quest. After that walk back to Private Hendel and you can get the quest back from him.

ok you didnt fail it no matter what if you dont kill him all you got to do it wait like 15 minutes even if you abondened it and he will repop with the mark over his head talk to him and bing bam you can do it again! do not retrace your steps MAKE SURE YOU JUST WAIT FOR HIM TO REPOP!

Killing him is easy, start the fight with him then run over to the nearby guard tower, the guards at the tower will take the aggro off you except hendel(if your attacking him) to take a 3 vs. 1 down to 1 on 1. I did it my first try even at lvl 31!

i was soloing as a lock and didnt realize they were level 35... so i was unrpepared and failed the first time.

abandoned quest... ran around for about 15 min... and the ? mark popped back up on hendel's head.

fought him and just as my voidwalker died and hendel was about to die (but his henchmen were still perfectly fine), lady theramore and her buddies came to the rescue!

ok.&nbsp this isnt that bad.&nbsp solo'd as 36 lock no problem.&nbsp

FOCUS ON HENDEL.&nbsp I got him down to 20% life (not even)&nbsp and the guards run off and he gives up.&nbsp

Incredibly easy.&nbsp

If you're a lock,&nbsp hit him with affliction spells and put your voids suffering ability on.&nbsp I barely got touched.

layed an ice trap for one of the guards,Send in pet on Hendel, DPS him as much as possible with one guard hitting me, by the time Hendel gave up i still had 50% health

I tried running the 2 guards to tower as suggested more times then I can remember, they would follow then turn back and second time as stated would get attacked by tower guards but every time Hendel would revert to a non-player and he could not be attacked, abandoned the quest about 6 times then waited the few minutes for it to respawn and finally decided to just fight him and see what would happen.&nbsp I was a 32 Paladin at the time, only had to heal myself 2 times before the quest ended.&nbsp You only need to get Hendel to about 33% before the fight is over.&nbsp Take it to him people, if you can heal yourself you are in there, if not just take some potions and you should be fine.

Solo'd this as 32 lock.&nbsp As many said here, focused on Hendel (both VW and self).&nbsp Used one healing pot, was at about 30% health when he gave up.&nbsp Thanks for the help to all!

The Commander will ask you to search Sentry Point for any sign of Hendel. I have completed the quest.

But in the Anonymous database, this step was not listed. It skipped to the fighting step. Anyone know what I should do from here?

if you fail the quest and abandon it then go talk to the arch-mage in the first tower again. he will give you the quest to kill Hendel.

That is not true - the arch mage will not reappear to give you the quest again if you abandon it.&nbsp I spoke with a Blizzard GM after I wrote a trouble ticket for this and the only thing they advised me to do was to retrace my steps.&nbsp So I have done just that - the arch mage did not reappear in the tower, Commander Samaul did not give me the quest again, no one in Menethil Harbor would give me the quest again.&nbsp I am theorizing that I would need to go back to Stormwind and start this long sojourn over once again.

This has happened to me I have contacted bilzzard also but as yet no joy I want to complete this quest but im not sure what to do

The first time I tried to kill Hendel I failed. However, I kept the quest. It has been a week since I failed. I was running by and saw he had a "?" above him. I was able to attempt to kill him again without doing anything other than visiting him again.

I killed hendel, then that lady says I gotta wait because Hendel is being questioned. So how long do I have to wait? :S I dont understand..

I'm trying to solo this but it's hard because I've tried to drag the sentry's over to the tower but they don't follow long enough for the guards to come :( And Higel turns back before the Sentrys and then he is an invalid target again... GRRR

Did the exact same thing as the person above me with a level 30 priest and it worked perfectly.

I killed the guy. then talked to Proudmore. but she took off before i finished reading. I didn't get my ring! after all the hardwork!

I got my ring and gold back. just go back to Theramore and talk to Proudmore again.
I solo this one with my 33 paly. just focus fire on Hendel. when health gets low, heal, shield/heal, shield/heal, and lay on hands. it's hard to die as a paly.

Ok, I had the same problem as a few of you, and died trying to kill Hendel.
Abandon the quest.
I then regot the quest by heading back to Theramore and talking to the Archmage, who is standing next to Proudmoore.

He is found in the Foothold Citadel in Theramore

Commander Samaul is in Theramore. You can get there by taking the southern boat out of Menethil. In the Foothold Citadel, go up to the war room and he's on the dais.

It seems that after subduing slim, you don't speak with Mikhail immediately, but to Slim first.
