Personally I find it weird that The Gelkis the Magic users of the centaur clan gives the good melee class reward and that the Magram the brutes of the centaur rivals give out the better of the caster rewards.

If you do Brutal Politics and follow through the chain you will get one of two items http://classicdb.ch/?item=6789 Ceremonial Centaur Blanket which is a decent caster cloak or http://classicdb.ch/?item=6788 which is a good leather wearing belt for hunters and rogues.

If you decide to do the Strange Alliance side of the two quests you will receive one of two rewards. You will receive http://classicdb.ch/?item=6773 The Gelkis Marauder Chain a decent mail chest piece or http://classicdb.ch/?item=6774 Uthek's Finger which to be frank sucks unless you are using a caster dagger or one hand of some sort other than that its pretty much useless.

There is a little insight for you.

Well I found the Gelkis spokesperson relatively easily, but Warug, the Magram spokesperson was a bit harder.

If you look at Magram Village, there is a small island with tents on it. Looking at the map, draw a straight line north from the island. Warug is North of the island and EAST of the imaginary line you drew. You should see the indicator on your minimap when you get close enough (he's hangin out by a big fire)

Hope this helps

There are two choices to go with either Magram or Gelkis village. I came here to see if there was a better reason to choose one or the other. xRasmus has stated Gelkis and what he thought but no one has said why to choose Magram other than Gelkis are easier to kill. This leads me to think if Magram are harder to kill then maybe going Gelkis might bring something better in the end.
I am lvl 50 so doing this is not about xp so much as I missed this zone in my earlier growth and want to do it. I also know that later these factions might matter somewhere though no one is mentioning it. Being a NE I did quest with Centaurs in Ashenvale. Suppose I should have paid closer attention to factions with those to see if it was more than just Darnassus.
I do know there is a pit of sorts in the Gelkis Village and when I went down there even thou they were not argo they attacked me. Why? Ask in gc but got no reply. Didn't have anything like that happen in the other village at all.

Think the admins were hinting at what they'd like us to do when they titled the Magram quest "Brutal Politics" and the Gelkis quest "Strange Alliance". I.E. brutalize the Magram and ally with the Gelkis?

I know we don't have to swing it this way, but I'm going that way just to get it over with.

And I also found Warug at 74,68. North of the main village, in the hills by a bonfire. Can't miss it. )

Does anyone have any insight into which of these two clans you should try to build rep with?. It seems each quest is geared to gain the upper hand with one or the other faction Gelkis or Magram. If there is no different please advise. Thanx.

Best reason I can see to choose one over the other is that the path leading from Desolace into Feralas is in Gelkis lands.&nbsp Now, this isn't a big deal unless you have a reason to get to Mauradon or Mannaroc coven a bit faster than from Nigel's Point.&nbsp Since I hadn't seen it listed as a reason, thought I'd mention it.

There is (or used to be) a very very easy (and cheeky) way to do both clan quests at the same time with almost no effort what-so-ever.

Get a friend, doesn't matter what level they are, the higher the better to be honest, and make a group.

Let your friend do all the killing. DO NOT ATTACK ANY MOB YOURSELF. You will get rep gain with one clan, but you wont lose any with the other.

This means you can be friendly with both at the same time.

Yeah, you don't get any XP for the killing, nor is it a great deal of fun being your friend's shadow for the ~40 minutes (less now since you start as neutral instead of unfriendly) it took to get friendly, but it is easier, and kinda neat to be friendly with both.

The last time I tried this was pre 2.0.1 and since there was a lot of changes to the rep system in that patch, I have no idea if it works now, and I do believe there are changes in 2.1 which might also affect it, but I'm guessing.

how many gelkis guys do you have to kill to get warug to talk to you and complete this quest? i dont know how many i killed but i am hostile with the gelkis and still neutral with the morgrams, how do i get them to friendly ? Must i be hated by the gelkis?

If you pay attention to your battle text window, your reputation goes up 20 with one group and down 100 with the other group with each kill.&nbsp At least that's what I was getting.

When I check my reputations under the Character screen, I believe was at 2240/3000 with Gelkis and 800/3000 with Magrams.

Working backwards, it seems as if you start at 2000/3000 with both groups, and I had already killed 12 Magrams.

Therefore, 20 kills = no longer neutral with the guys you're killing, 100 kills = friendly with the other group.

I think i might have found a way in which BOTH clan quests can be done , im not sure yet if it works but im going to give it ago. What i have come up with so far is even if u have become friendly with one clan side , u can STILL be a war with them if u click on the At War box. So that means once comepleting all the quest with one clan, tick the box to become at war with them and start killing them till the Rep becomes friendly with the other clan...... again im not sure if it will work as im doing it now so i will let you all know :)

Yep it works alright, Complete all the quest u have with ONE clan, then once there all done Click on the box ( At War With ) then start killing them all and ur rep will increast with the OTHER clan group, become friendly with them and u can do all there quests gaining u aload more exp/items. Does take a LONNNNGG time tho but hey its worth it in the long run for Exp.

The Gelkis are found around 38.85 and the magram are found at 68.72

As a 34 Paladin I soloed this easily. The quest told me which clan to fight against. You will not aggro unless you are already in a battle and another walks past or near. I recommend staying away from the Windchasers as they can heal themselves. The Stampers and Scouts will respawn fast enough for you to mainly concentrate on them.

Also, be sure you pick up the quest "Centaur Bounty" while you do this quest. Otherwise your going to spend a long time on these two quests ;]

ok basically, if you think this is a lousy quest (for having to get 50 kills) at level 36 (one level above recomended) as a 36 mage, they take little effort to kill, and i can kill about 3-5 before i have to refill mana and health. i'm going to give some after results, but as it is now, i have 14 kills, and with rested, the xp i have receive so far from those 14 kills ammounts to 5236 but i won't be on rested much longer. i'll calculate how much xp the average person should get at 50 kills if they are level 36. Basically, if you're getting 187xp per kill unrested (like me) you're looking at 10K xp just for the kills in this quest alone. Course you could go out and just grind @#$% for the hell of it. but this way you get a small bonus at the end. have fun.

Unless you gotta have absolutely something that one of these two camps gives - don't DON'T mess with this or the other quest.

just stay neutral with both.

i had to go 3 kills into hostile to get the quest. it took 30 kills to get the faction back up to unfriendly (3.01)and lowered this faction down to unfriendly (about 3.78). what a pain. if you want to kill tons of centaurs great. the other camp is by a road to another zone so you really don't want to have problems crossing there.

after i came in here and read the quests i said - so what.

so - my advice avoid the centaur quests except for the one the corporal hands out and doing the bodyguard for the goblin.

PS: if you gotta do this - kill at higher than your level, you hit the faction level faster because it goes: so and so has increased SLIGHTLY and so and so has Decreased - when you complete the kill

I do not have these.

BORING....I had to kill 200+ centaurs of the other clan to get my rep up high enough to finish this quest. I started at 2200 rep, and had to raise it to 3000. The thing is, I was only getting 5 rep from each kill, and some would only give me 1! Only start this quest chain if you are a true grinder.
