The Binding

Using the Tome of the Cabal, summon and subdue a felhunter, then return the Tome of the Cabal to Strahad Farsan in Ratchet.

Description

If you are sufficiently prepared, then we should begin. Let me explain the process to you.

I will begin by creating the basic summoning circle. When that is finished, my acolytes will use the rods of channeling to create the greater circle.

Once that is done, read the incantation from the Tome of the Cabal, and the felhunter will be pulled forth. Be careful, <name>. A felhunter is a powerful foe, and I'd like to see you keep your head on your shoulders.

If you fail the quest you should just be able to abandon it and pick up this quest again from Strahad Farsan to try again.

One thing that helped me is that since the Felhunter is not your summoned pet, you can use a summoned pet during the fight.

I summoned my VW and he aggro'd the Felhunter while I cast spells.

Worked great the first time.

Don't worry just abandon the quest (it will say "destroy the tome"), don't worry it doesn't. And accept the quest again and he will ask if you are ready then walk in and start the summon again.&nbsp This time after the green circle overlays the pink one "READ THE TOME", kill the felhunter and turn in the quets and you have it.

Summon your VW before you talk to the pointy-hat dude. Wait for him to go inside and make a purple summoning circle, then wait a little longer for the other dudes to make a bright green circle... Sac your VW and click the book straight after. Then with agony, corruption and immolate, one shadow bolt and a couple of wand hits, you have a dead felwalker. I think he hit me once after the shield wore off.

I messed up the binding quest the first time too.&nbsp I didn't have a pet active, was out of soul shards, didn't have my Imp summoned, and the Felhunter killed me -(&nbsp I didn't know how to fix it, and no one I asked did either!

I read your post and followed it to the letter and it worked like a charm!

I now have my Felhunter, with the help of my Void, and I am once again a happy camper!

My advice to anyone who has also messed up the first time is:&nbsp Follow this post to the letter, abandon the binding quest, and go do it again.&nbsp It works -)

Summoned my succy before Strahad starting creating the circle.

Defeated the Fel very quickly at lvl 30 with a couple of dots and a shadowbolt.

dude go into the Quest Log, click on the subject quest, click Abandon Quest down the bottom. TALK TO THE PERSON WHO GIVES U THE QUEST U LAST HAD, if u dont know who that was go up to the top of this page and click on the quest called The Binding, and follow the name :) when u get the quest again do exactly what u did before, but when theyve done the circle USE THE BOOK. hope this helps, buh-bye

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned one of the BEST features of the Felhunter... it's a demon, and can see through stealth. This works awesome in pvp Battlegrounds - WSG in particular- park your Felhunter by an entrance or on the flag, any druid or rogue trying to stealth in will be spotted (if your level is higher than theirs). Rocks against casters. I still prefer my VW for solo'ing though.

Felhunter basically chew up any class with a blue bar with the exception of hunters.

and yes this pet is so damn ugly but they say its worth in pvp so ill try em ^_^

this is the second time the summoning circle hasn't appeared for me (first for the succy).&nbsp Only quick solution was to guess where it was (doesn't take a genius to figure where its SUPPOSE to be) and summon there, and its worked both times.

The last quest is very easy , plus the reward is cool! It gave (except the fellhunter) a 16 slot soul shard bag! :)

I accepted the quest before I knew what to do. They fired up the circle, I fired up Anonymous... too late, the circle timed out after about a minute.

The advice given elsewhere in this page is correct: It is OK to cancel the quest even though it says the Tome will be destroyed. You can cancel, then talk to the guy again to re-accept the quest and all will be well.

The fight is described in many other posts. At lvl 37, my succubus could have brought him down on her own, but I think it's quite feasible even at lvl 30. Do remember to have a demon handy, though. Some others recommend the imp.

Heh I found the easiest way to kill. Drag the Fel gaurd to a ratchet gaurd and hell do all the work for you.

Uuh yes,
I'm a Belf and Id delivered the summ Quest in Rachet.

When done, follow the Npc and he will make you a Circle of Summoning.
Open your Inventory and right click on the Book.
Simply defeat the Felhunter and voila you get the rewards: possibility to Summon your own Felhunter and you will get a Soulbag 16 slots. End

Too many mobs?
Are they stopping u gettin somewhere or to something?
Here's a method I use.
It's how I&nbsp did the Murlock camp

Pet on DEFENSIVE and STAY
Move to a better position. (This is situational)
Target a mob and send in your pet.
When he aggroes put him on PASSIVE.
He will head back to his stay position NOT BACK TO YOU.
Race in and get what u need
RUN AWAY!
With Locks u dont need to sacrifice if u time it right, he's alive when you are far enuf from him that he vanishes and u get back your shard

Yes, I made the same mistake. I didn't read the tome (Always read the quest instructions, stoopid). Strahad just got up and walked away and that seemed to be the end of that.

The fix for this was to abandon 'the binding' then a yellow question mark appeared above strahad and I was able take the quest again even though I no longer had the rods.

The felhunter was easily defeated. I assumed it would have some sort of protection against magic after reading up about felhunters but that was not the case. my firebolts and DOTs finished him off quickly and my void barely broke a sweat.

Each time I defeate the fel thing, he goes back to where he is with a grey question mark above his head and says I need the Tomb of Cabal, which I have in my bag. Its confusing me. Also when I kill the fel, nothing comes up saying fel blah blah bla: 1/1

The felhunter killed me. Now it is not giving me any options. How do I summon him again without starting over completely. I cannot possibly be the first person who was killed by the felhunter. What do I do now??

this is a real easy fight, summon a VW befor u summon and sacrifice it (for the shild) and when felhunter pops out, nuke it with searing pain
