Bloodscalp Ear (15)

Description

Damn trolls! They've been killing off our agents in the jungle! I've already lost a good number of my best guards to skirmishes with them. The costs are piling up! How will I explain this to Baron Revilgaz?

Decisive action... Think, Kebok... you weren't assigned to the post you have today for sitting around... I've got it! You... <name>, is it? You'll help me, won't you? There's money to be had!

Here's the deal... you bring me the ears of fifteen Bloodscalp Trolls, and I'll compensate you well.

You would THINK that each troll has 2 ears... but NOOOOO... most don't have ears, go figure.

The Camp is around 36,11 and the trolls spawn quickly at Tkashi Ruins at around 34,15 - about 1 minute away.&nbsp I was getting about 1 drop per 4 kills, so not too bad. Took me less than 30mins to get all 15 drops.&nbsp If you're soloing at around the same or lower lvl as the trolls, best not to go into the centre of the ruins as you'll agro all the Shaman trolls. Just keep doing circuits around the outside and you'll find they spawn ready for you, and you can take em out one at a time.&nbsp They also drop a lot of silk.

*** 3) [35] Bloodscalp Ears ***

That quest is for both Horde and Alliance.

However, the other three are for Horde.

Just a little note in case you are wondering where to get the others from.

Coordinates: 33,15 (area around it also)
Non-Coordniates: West of Lake Feriti
Bloodscalp Troll Levels: 31-34
Drop rate: I had a 1 ear for every 3 troll ratio
Respawn rate: Fairly quickly if your soloing it with no pet, rate decreases if you have pets or of higher level.

Finish this quest in about 15-20 minutes.

You can get this done at the Bal'lal Ruins (29,19) right ouside Grom'Gol Base Camp.

You should attempt the following quests together,

1) [34] Bloodscalp Insight
2) [34] Hunt for Yenniku
3) [35] Bloodscalp Ears
4) [37] Bloody Bone Necklaces

4 quests done at once.

Just do this quest at night when barely anybody is playing maybe 1-2 am, and your ears should start dropping as easily as once every second or third kill, instead of 4, 5 or even 6 kills per ear drop. Also, for those who don't understand these map numbers that the rest of these guys put up all over the message board, this quest is located to the west of the river just as you enter Straglethorn Vale to the North.

Bloodscalp trolls can be found in and around several sets of ruins in the northwest portion of the zone. The drop rate for ears was about one in every four. The respawn rate was pretty fast, so be careful about having repops trap you if you work your way into the ruins.

Beware when pulling these... they seem to have a nasty ability to drag 2 to 3 others with them because they seem to run rather awkwardly around to you... even with a VW these things are a pain

ive found a good way to fight these guys and get the ears you need.&nbsp ive always asumed it better to be in a group while doing a quest like this as it goes much faster.&nbsp you dont need to set the looting different, just check the bodies your partner loots to see if they drop ears for you.&nbsp starting at 32,11.&nbsp slay all trolls you encounter, if there are others working this quest, invite them, or move on to another location.&nbsp go south east to the closest temple ruins you find.&nbsp work this area as long as you can, then there is one more temple just south of this ruined temple.&nbsp afterwards start back over..&nbsp i found this quest to be quite long and boring as i got an ear to like 4 trolls i killed.&nbsp but just the same, follow these steps and you should stay busy collecting xp on the way.

Your wrong about the drop rates.

I was playing at 4:15 CEST, took me 15 minutes, drop rate was 1 ear to every 2-3 mobs.

The locs are right though (scroll down, further posts). Some good exp for the quest to, well worth the time.

is the Zuuldaia ruins, right on the coast, nearly due west of Nessingway's Expedition. if you repeatedly circle the ruin, staying outside, you can pick off bloodscalp bezerkers & witch doctors one at a time. After about 3 trips around, I had my 15. I hope you find it as easy as I did!

Hey again. I'm a lvl 32 Hunter and i just solod this quest in under an hour. There are ALOT of these trolls that drop them and respawn extremely fast at about 33, 15. Also the surrounding area has alot, not just the ruins. These guys drop the ears every 2-4 mobs. They also drop STV book pages. All of them were about level 33-34. Hope this helps!

The Ears drop off of any Bloodscalp troll so you shouldn't go off farming them there are plenty of quests you can do with this quest:
Hunt of Yenniku
Headhunting
Bloodscalp clan heads

The droprate for these seem to have been increased. If anyone remembers doing this quets in the past it was horrible. The last two toons I have done this on have had a really good droprate, definitely worth doing now.

I thought this one was super easy. The only problem I had was Horde! Did this easily at level 36 with a mage. The drop rate isn't great but it's okay. took me about 1/2 hour to get all 15.

This is not hard to solo at all. Did it easily as a lvl 35 feral druid. They have little aggro, so you just sneak up on them and attack them from behind at your own leisure. The drop rate isn't all that spectacular, but I did get quite a few useful drops like silk and some other items.

You know, the wierd thing about this quest is that all off them only drop 1 ear tops even though all of them clearly all have 2 ears you know, and quite big ones too... :P

Anyways, I'd wish the drop rate on this quest was as good as the one on "Singing Blue Shards" wich was also in the area, wich I did afterwards. BTW you can also find the island of that other quest further to the north of the beach where you get the crystals and there are stranglethron raptors on top of the cliff for your raptor mastery quest. And I must agree the only real problem on this quest was being ganked by higher lvl hordes.

Easy enough quest. Head north up the beach on the east site of Grom'gol Base Camp and you'll reach small troll camp - Bal'lal Ruins (30,19). Not many here to be had especially with the slow drop rate.

If you keep heading north up the beach you'll come to a second bigger camp of trolls - Zuuldaia Ruins (32,28). I found a good circuit of seven or so mobs that I could run round and get the drops from before the started respawning. The nice thing was the quick respawn rate.

There are more still on the hilltop to the east of this in the Ruins of Zul'Kunda around (24,12)
