when i turned in that quest that dragon scared me...i thought it might try to eat me :)

The point of the quest is that you get to go to the chest next to where he was and loot his little horde.

I found I had to right click on the chest, then accept the quest, then click again almost like I was completing from an npc.

The important thing about the stuff you get is that includes a Black Dragonflight Molt which you can look up here on thottbot. Turning that in leads to you being able to open up the whole key to Onyxia quest line.

You end up needing to use the molt to capture the firey essence of Bael'Gar in Blackrock Depths. That quest is called A Taste of Flame. You get it by showing the Dragonflight Molt to a dragonkin in a cave in Burning steppes I believe

Basically this quest is bugged! The first time you give him the crap to make the damn staff, he makes it, but doesn't give it to you, and yet you get the "Bind this crap with it's crap" quest.
You have to talk to him again. And he'll instantly drop one in your INV, but still look like he's making another one. Then you have to take the one in the INV and drop it and destroy it. And ask for another. Keep doing this until he goes through the process of making it, and you see the staff floating in the air in the green stuff. Then do the "open" action on it. And you'll pick it up and get the quest correctly this time. I guess blizzard screwed up when they made the quest come from the dude and the staff.(same quests) You need the one from the staff to continue. Once you've grabbed that one and it's quest, you get to talk to the squire guy walking around him for the next part of the quest. lvl52 elite "Set Them Ablaze".

I found the torch a bit difficult to see. it kind of floats in the green haze and if the area is busy it is not obvious. Be patient and keep looking in the green light.

Another part of the same quest, this part gives you the staff. It's fairly useless but the quest chain rewards a LOT of experience for such easy tasks. Click on the torch when you are directly under the green glow to complete the final task after recieving the torch. This quest is lengthy, but at least you get to keep the torch , so in the end it's all worth it. :)

This one's not bad. You just have to kill the few guys around the towers and the elite on top. The place to use the torch is in one of the corners of each tower.

It looked like I recieved the torch, but I didn't. I had to talk to Kalaran Wingblade again then to his squire after I got the torch and free exp.

His squire gave me the Set them ablaze quest.

I completed this quest as a 46 hunter and only died to mobs twice...got ganked probably 20 times though. Awesome to see the dragon at the end of the quest though really cool

soloed it at 50-51. You can stealth past guards ( 50 elites ) for stealth capable anyway. If not bring a friend or 2. On the catwalks of each tower overlooking the pit you will see a "green ashtray" like item. With torch equiped, swing away to set it ablaze.

they fixed it now, recived quest just like you would think. didn't have to delete anything.

It doesn't look like it's lit but check your quest log and it should be complete for that tower.&nbsp I wouldn't have even seem the braziers if I wasn't with a group where someone said... "It's right here."&nbsp I was exptecting a brazier like what's in IF but, as someone already said, it looks more like an ashtray.&nbsp Just go up and kill the L50 elite and it's on the floor of tower. I think it always on the first left corner.

what does it lead to next?

get the torch that floats in the air, then talk to the squire who will give you the quest I liked in that last post.

Just click on the green glow, you'll see the gear.&nbsp Quest complete, you receive item, speak to him again even though you dont see a mark above his head.&nbsp He'll tell you to speak to the guy next to him.

easy to do, just use wyvern sting to but those elites to sleep and then ablaze. did half like that but the other half I killed myself alone

You have to equip the Staff of Retribution before you can set the towers ablaze!

You'll need the help of a mage with Ice Block or a high lv char who can resist dmg.
3 ways to do it:
a/ with mage. Mage goes, pulls all aggro, casts ice block and u get the item. WoOt :-:
b/high lv. Just let him kill everybody and get the item calmly.
c/High lv. Same as a/ but without ice block.

I just completed it and was given a new quest called 'Set them Ablaze!'

equip the tourch and go to the towers arround the big hole in the mindle of map of searing gorge.
in the first floor there is a plate. use on it.
go back to the 2 guys and after the dragon leaves open 2 times the small chest over there....
i took Hoard of the black Dragonflight and some useless items..

i discover that u can train your skill in unarmed with that staff, dont worry when u try to kill anything and appear in your screen "inmune" but u can get to maximun skill in unarmed qith this staff&nbsp =)

Well, I completed the quest and then went back to the guy who gave it to me.

Then, this huge dragon appears, gives some spiel about how you helped him in spite of yourself, then leaves.

It almost appears at some point that something else is supposed to happen, but what?&nbsp Bizarre ending...he just issues a threat and flies away.

no comments :P what the heck.. im on the second part of the quest atm havent started it yet gonna hit it up tomorrow but theres not too much info about the steps after that.. im still kinda wondering what that staff thing is for.. i r confused

Take the black Drogonflight molt to the northeast cave in the burning steppes and talk to the dragon in the cave.

Once he is making the thing for you .... you will see green light while he is doing it. You put cursor in green light you'll get gear on sword ~very small, hard to see~ this put's it in your bag. Quest is not bugged.

Could we please keep the posts down to minimal information and it would be great if someone would post useful info. like Coor, Mobs, how to. no one cares if the quest was easy for ya. Think about it

man,, just give coords or how to... but don't write crap.. ( like i do now:P :) )

maybe you guys dont know but this tortch is good wana know why ?: unarmed training xD
just attack a low lvl with it(not a critter it wil run away)and start training undarmed it keeps saying immune -)

I had no problems with the quest

the quest woked so easy for me. I just ran up the tower Feign Death next to the fire and when he ran way i light the flame. i got 2 chests aswell

does any1 know how many towers i have to set a flame? :D ?

The locations:

Northern Tower: 33,54
Western Tower: 35,60
Southern Tower: 44,60
Eastern Tower: 50,64

Note:
The towers are around the western/southern part of The Cauldron (outside of it). You actually can see the icons on your map.
Once on a tower platform, equip your character with the Torch of Retribution, and right+click on the sentry brazier (a tiny thing on the platform).
This part of the map is populated with roaming Golems and Dark Iron dwarves. Just watch out for the elite 47-48 Dark Iron Sentry atop of each towers! And look around for a chest or two. Voila!

quest worked fine for me.

quest is still bugged after the patch, had to ask him about 6 times before the rod finally appeared. an extremely easy quest to do for a rogue and some great rewards too )

Is this nice looking torch usefull for anything other than this quest?
