Screecher Spirits

Capture the spirits of 3 screechers in Feralas, then return to Yeh'kinya in Steamwheedle Port.
  •
Screecher Spirits Collected (3)
Yeh'kinya's Bramble
Provided Item:
Yeh'kinya's Bramble

Description

I seek the spirits of the vale screechers of Feralas. They are the cousins of an old, old god, and their spirits are linked to him.

Take this bramble wand and go to Feralas. Find and defeat vale screechers in southern and central Feralas, then wave my bramble over their fallen bodies. This will coax their spirit to reveal itself. Touch the spirit and collect its essence.

Return to me with my bramble and with the collected essence, and I will tell you more of the old god of which I spoke.

Actually, the best spot for the spirits is by the Dock.&nbsp The dock you catch for the ship that takes you to Feathermoon Stronghold.&nbsp If you just run north from there and stay in between the mountains and the coast line, you will see some (Rogue Vale Screechers).&nbsp You can kill these and grab their spirits with the bramble you have.&nbsp The spawn rate for the screechers is allot beeter then Location 54,57.&nbsp Only two Vale screechers spawn there and you have to wait a good while for your third to spawn.&nbsp Good Luck!

This is part of a long chain quest designed to familiarize you with Zul'Gurub and the Zandalar Tribe. Much of the rewards are decent for their level. The Faded Hakkari Cloak is only slightly worse than everyone's favorite Hide of the Wild. Definitely a worthwhile chain for someone that doesn't want to shell out for the Hide.

Here's the full quest chain:
- Screecher Spirits(Feralas) - https://classicdb.ch/?quest=3520
- The Prophecy of Mosh'aru(Zul'Farrak) - https://classicdb.ch/?quest=3520
- The Ancient Egg(Hinterlands) - https://classicdb.ch/?quest=4787
- The God Hakkar(Temple of Atal'Hakkar) - https://classicdb.ch/?quest=3528
- The Lost Tablets of Mosh'aru(Eastern Plaguelands) - https://classicdb.ch/?quest=5065
- The Final Tablets(Lower Blackrock Spire) - https://classicdb.ch/?quest=4788
- Confront Yeh'kinya(Tanaris) - https://classicdb.ch/?quest=8181

ok not too hard of a quest.

The best spot for vale screecher's are around East from the docks. You are in right place if you see water elements and giants. Good luck.
Vale screechers are red snakes with wings.

1. Find a vale screecher.
2. kill it
3. click on it's body
4. use the bramble instrument
5. The spirit will rise from the body
6. right click to speak with vale screecher.
7. You will know you have caught one once it&nbsp
&nbsp displays "vale screecher sprit 1 out of 3".
8. repeat process until quest complete.

A minor note to add, using the Bramble on a corpse will give credit to all in your party that are nearby, so if you are grouped you will still only need to track down a total of three.

Ok folks I have added before, during and after screen shots of this quest. I was a bit unsure as to what it is I was killing so here are pics and enjoy killing. Also "Talk" to the spirit to add it to your quest log. Don't kill, use wand and walk away. Talk to the un-holy thing.

These Guys hang out in small groups near the T in the road that runs up to Dire Maul from the main road. It is a rather simple thing to get 3 of them. This is noted after the 10 patch. If U run out of mobs to kill go due south and they pop along a line for the next 300 or so "yards" in game.

[Alliance] From Feathermoon Stronghold, i swam east to the Forgotten Coast, just on land , very near the shore at [ 46, 49 ]
I found four Rogue Vale Screechers (45), very easy to kill for any class. Once killed, before looting, used my clicky on them to summon their spirits, then looted, and off to the next, was done in under 5 minutes. Hopefully screenshot to follow.

I tried to do this quest at level 41 - obviously, I had no chance against these level 46 Screechers at the dock.

Fortunately, I found a single level 42 Screecher. It's located in the Feral Scar Valley (south of Dire Maul), where the Yetis are. It's not far away from the path... near a big tree... It's just one creature, but it spawns approx. every five minutes.

I of course didnt have the FP to Feathermoon... hadnt even been in Feralas before. Easiest way to get to the flight path and to complete the quest is to just fly to Nijel's Point and go south and cut to the west so you can go south down the road by the Gelkis Centaur camp. Just follow the road and it'll take you to the pier which the boat that takes you to Feathermoon Stronghold every 5 mins or so.

The screechers are just north of the docks along the waterfront. 6 were right there in a row and was able to finish it for both my chars. Easy as pie.

Also, there's a little goblin by the docks who gives a couple quests. Dunno if they are good for my level yet but worth checking out.

Well...

Go to 46 , 48 (Ferelas) and there you will see Rogue Vale Screechers kill one by one and after u kill and loot as MissusLewis :
"...target the body again and right click on the Bramble. When the spirit appears right click on it and then click goodbye. You will have your essence."

This is the tutorial that helped me a lot .. :)

The mobs can be found around 50,56. Near the Diremaul entrance. Just kill them and zap them with the bramble wand, then click them when their spirit shows up. Watch out for Sonic Burst (Silence). I did this with a 44 hunter, no problem. I also did this quest along with ''The Mark of Quality.

Ok..I have noticed the other posts leave quite a bit of information out:

1. You get the quest in Steemwheedle Port. However the Screechers are in Feralas which is NOT in Tanaris. So putting in your coords right there will NOT help you, as I found out.

2. TO GET TO FERALAS: Go back thru the Shimmering Flats to Thousand Needles. Stay on the path and right before you get to the Great Lift you will see a sign directing you down another path to Ferals. Follow this to Feralas, which is a jungle area.

3. Once in Feralas you may put in the coords 56,51 which is where I first saw a Screecher. HOWEVER: there is a rather large Horder town that you MUST go around. This is easier if you have a map add-on that you can show unexplored areas because you can see your way around BACK to the road.

4. Keep following the road till you get to the intersection where the entrance to Dire Maul is.

5. WARNING: Screechers are indeed found here. Look like red flying serpents. BE WARNED: this is ape and bear country, also Yeti's. Also there are some ruins that have ogres in theme. If you go too far down into the valley you will run into untamed Hippographs as well.

6. The Screechers were in the valley, and I saw one on the cliff above the road. They are not really in groups and take their time about showing up.

7. Kill it, after looting, target the body again and right click on the Bramble. When the spirit appears right click on it and then click goodbye. You will have your essence.

Hope this helps someone out!

Went and picked up the quest, then flew to Feathermoon (already had it marked from getting lost in Booty Bay) If you don't have it marked, looks like the nice folks above have given you a way to get there :)
I was 41 NE druid at the time (hit 42 doing the quest..woohoo)
If you are alliance, feathermoon is much like Auberdine..it's alliance friendly..so no worries there. Don't wander too far if you've not been there, though. The Nagas are pretty fierce.
Hop the boat to the forgotten coast (it only goes there, so no worries about missing your stop) take the dock and *avoid* the coast if you can, You need to turn right to find the ones I killed, but on the coast are elementals and a couple of huge elite coastal giants.

Nutshell

1)Pick up quest in Stormwheedle
2)Find your way to Feathermoon
3)Take boat to coast
4)Hop off, trot down the dock, go right
5)Profit!

Pull them away from one another, of course. There were only 3 hanging out where I went and I screwed up a couple of times because I skinned them before clicking the bramble rod. D'OH
The spawn rate isn't unreasonable, though. Plus where I was..there wasn't any other animal interference.
They are lvl 43-46. Have healing pots or bandages ready if you are under that lvl (as I am) but they really aren't that hard to kill.

Hope this helps. If nothing else, I'm just repeating what everyone else said :D
My only problem was when I went to turn it in. A bored 53 troll rogue decided he wanted to attack me. Oddly enough, he did it in front of a 53 human warlock and a 50 dwarf hunter.
As much as I tried..couldn't summon his spirit with the bramble. Couldn't skin him, either.
