There is another place also to get those Vile Fin Scales (35,44)..

I killed 7 'n got all scales..

I found that the "Vile Fin Muckdwellers" dropped the scale the most. They are around 66,29.

&nbsp I guess it is luck of the draw, or don't do this quest on a Sunday.
&nbsp I killed well over 70, levelled twice upto the point that the quest went grey, spent approx 2 hours attempting this quest.
&nbsp After whining in general chat, someone suggested I must be in a raid group.&nbsp I replied, "I am level 15 and have never been in a raid group!"&nbsp He invited me to a group to make sure, and of course I accepeted his/her invite and advice willingly.&nbsp Upon grouping, they said, "Well you're in the right spot that's where I got mine after around 20 mobs, and you're obviously not in a raid group, I don't know what to tell you keep trying and submit a trouble ticket."&nbsp
&nbsp I submitted a ticket, moved from the river mouth Vilefins near Vagras field to Soliden Farm where I had started out for about another half an hour, then went onto other quests while I waited for a GM's reply.&nbsp The GM's response after about 4 hours was, "The quest is functioning properly!" (now this I found funny) "I recommend abandoning the quest, logging off, then back on and relogging the quest."&nbsp I must admit I had a bit off a laugh through my frustration, if the quest is functioning properly why did he recommend abandoning the quest and going through that rigamoral.
&nbsp Need to say I did abandon the quest but never took it up again, my frustration with the game that day was unparalelled, having lost my warlocks summoned pet for no reason about 5 times while running down roads, running through the cities of UC and Ogrimaar (another game glitch the GM earlier told me they were aware of and trying to hard to fix).&nbsp I am not a new player having taken a warrior to level 60 and having an allinace level 45 warlock, but this is the first quest in well over a year playing I have abandoned and not completed.

If it wasn't for the quest reward, I would have dropped this quest long ago. It took me 29 kills to get the drops I needed. Very annoying.

The vile fins can be found from the Murlocs on the shores of Tirisfal Glades. If you look on your map there are two openings between mountains at the top of the map. These coastlines contain plenty of Murlocs to get the fins from, but I recommend you bring two friends along with you to help out, Murlocs are a low level player's worst enemy as they travel in groups and do lots of damage to you. Be careful not to "aggro", or in normal terms "aggravate", too many Murlocs, as they are tough to handle.

Don't worry.&nbsp I first got very discouraged when I started this Quest because I couldn't get any of the scales, but trust me, just keep at it and they'll come.&nbsp Sometimes you'll get them right away, other times you'll have to keep at it.&nbsp I guess it's the luck of the draw, but they're there.

Try north of garrens haunt

It seems the drops rate has been fixed, I got 50% rate on the North Coast&nbsp (61,30).

drop rate was ok. Directly north of the farm. If you keep close to the shore you avoid large groups, did it np with a lvl8 lock

*The purple murlocs are ranged casters, their bolts hit 20's

*You might also want to check out a rare spawn "silver portait" at 63,27 named "Deeb", I found a copper vein here.

*The murlocs run away at low health!

*Mage hint
-throw 2 fireballs and 1 fireblast, that should kill them or atleast make them run away.
-keep your polymorph(sheep) button close, you will run into 2 or more murlocs when fighting.

I found alot of mine along 35,35.

North of the Scarlet Crusade Warriors. Watch out since Murlocs are nasty. I partied.

VILLE FIN SCALE is a loot from Vile Fin ... mobs they is on levels over 7~10 i found them uper of GARENS HAUNT[59.34] on coastline and in the sea

Heads up, be careful when doing this quest. More than 1 Murloc can rock you hard. They also have a huge aggro zone.

Be careful there is a rare elite near a rock, Deeb. level 12 and at lvl 10 quite hard to kill. Does a mixsture of all the murlocs moves around.

easy and fast just go to 30,45 and you will find it

this stuff, along with really sticky glue is VERY valuable on a pvp server. Dont waist this stuff on low lvl mobs, save them for ALLIANCE SKUM )

Also many Murlocs on the beach beyond the tower with the crusade warriors, past the Solliden farm.
