Goblin Engineering

If you wish to learn more about Goblin Engineering, take the Manual of Engineering Disciplines to Nixx Sprocketspring in Gadgetzan.
Manual of Engineering Disciplines
Provided Item:
Manual of Engineering Disciplines

Description

Expert engineering yields two distinct disciplines: gnome and goblin. I only bother to mention goblin engineering because I'm a fair trainer. They like to make things that blow up, and they rarely care what is in the way - even themselves.

<name>, read this manual. If you want to learn how to blow yourself up, then take it to Nixx Sprocketspring in Gadgetzan. Remember - membership is permanent and prevents joining the other discipline, so make sure this is what you want before finishing his task.

Maybe not all.&nbsp If you can't renew your membership, you can't get both engineering pets.&nbsp So if you prefer Pet Bombling, start with Goblin.&nbsp Prefer Lil' Smokey, start with Gnomish.

One more thing, if you finish with Gnomish engineering, you won't be able to reload your goblin mortar.

I'm not sure if this is new in 1.11 since I haven't tried switching engineering before, but switching is apparently possible. When after abandoning engineering and leveling it anew you go to learn engineering 225-300 in Gadgetzan, the goblin Nixx Sprocketspring will hint that you can learn what you previously knew or something different entirely by going north of Steamwheedle Port to read a certain soothsaying book. I went in the hut at about 66.20ish I guess and there was a book that lets you choose your desired engineering which you'll acquire then and there.

There's also no need to redo the Show Your Work quest and I don't seem to need an engineering card to access schematics.

IF you want to change from either goblin or gnome engineering DONT BOTHER as you will waste time and gold on doing so.&nbsp I dropped goblin engineering to start again from level 1 to train as a gnome engineer only to find out that after levelling my skill up I was still a goblin egineer.&nbsp This is probably the same case with Blacksmithing to change from armor to weapon and vice versa.&nbsp

So I have now lost all the engineering recipies that I have purcahsed as well as time and gold on retraining which has really P@@@@@ me off :(

Has any1 else tried to drop another skill to change the type to find the same problem.

Gadgetzan is in Tanaris, on the continent of Kalimdor. On your map, there's a house representing the town of Gadgetzan.

As for the previous post, you need to obtain a quest from Tinker Town in Iron Forge before you go speak to either of the Master Engineers.
