The Lost Pilot

Find Pilot Hildelve.

Description

My friend and fellow Siege Engine pilot, Mori Hildelve, is lost in the hills. We were looking for a rare ore that's needed for a high-grade blastpowder, and during our search he drove his engine up a steep hill and busted it!

Still convinced that ore was in these mountains, Hildelve charged me to guard our engines while he continued on foot, searching.

It's been days, and I've heard some beastly growls in the hills at night. Mori's tough as nails, but I'm worried.

Please, <name>. Find him.

Pilot Hildelve is directly northwest of the questgiver at 79,36. You'll see a path that branches off to the left of the main road... the lost dwarf is a bloody mess at the end of the path, and Mangeclaw is in the valley behind him.

This corpse is located across from the quest giver in the same zone near a downed tree and a named bear you have to kill after you find the corpse.

My reward for this included a chain vest that was a moderate upgrade (I did this quest as a level 10 Human Paladin).

In the same area to the northwest there is an area that isn't covered by snow.&nbsp Towards the end of that area is a blackened patch.&nbsp 79,39 is correct actually but I overlooked it.&nbsp The unqiuely named bear was at the end past some cats.

go through the&nbsp NorthGate Out Post and hang a left almost immediatley. You should see a "dirt" path close to the tunnel. The path ends at a tree, under it should be the corpse. Immediatley to the left of the tree is a small ravine with the two lepoards and the Bear, Mangeclaw. When looking at your map you should be directly inbetween Ironforge and the Outpost, on the far side of the lake.&nbsp Super easy kills. For ppl who are looking for a good Mod to be able to use the cords use the download link to the left. Anonymous has one that has a lot of fun features, it is worth the 5 minutes to download it.

The corpse is in the same zone. Its in North Gate Pass. If you head north along the road for a bit, you will see an offshoot to the left (west). Follow it. Where the path ends is a corpse in the snow, thats him, if you keep going, you find the bear. He is lvl 11.

While within the North Gate Outpost, you will find the "Dwarven Corpse" West Northwest from Pilot Hammerfoot's location.&nbsp In fact, the body is about 90 yards out and 20 yards to the right from the direction the quest giver is facing.&nbsp Search a single dark patch against the hill - Pilot Hildelve's remains are there.

Mangeclaw is located in the "minivalley" just beyond his body.

And yes, 79,36... )

Festivale's description was completely accurate. Directly across from him (on the other side of the cleared area)is a sort of trail that leads into the hills. I found the body in plain view and had to kill a snow leopard (lvl 8?) guarding it.

Mangeclaw is only an 11, but has has two friends - lvl 8 snow leopards. Probably better to pull and kill them first, then whack Mangeclaw. None of the snow leopards drop anything (except skins of course, if you're a skinner), so they're just an annoying nuisance.

Easy and quick quest if you're en route from Loch Modan to IronForge. I got 1070XP at lvl14, a siege brigade mail vest (102 armor) and a 1-handed mace.

Any chance we can get clearer directions to the corpse? Which road - the one that leads to Valley of the Kings/Loch Modan or back to the road that leads to the North gate? I've checked both...

1. Direction - go NW - and there are paths leading W into surrounding mts. First are some boars and cats. Then smudge on snow which look like messy armor close up - and wheel comes up over it.
2. As a dwarf Hunter I got to pick between a Crafted Dagger DPS 6.8 and AGI +1 and a Compact Hammer DPS 7.0 and STR +1 both are green - so can be disenchnted if you happen to be a enchnying hunting dwarf ... strange comb that would be.

Neither as you're heading toward the Loch, there's an open area off to the left/west, a small valley. As you go into that, on the right side is a puddle with some ribs sticking out of it, that's the body. Farther up is the bear Mangeclaw.

This is in the "North Gates Outpost" Right when you get the quest just go a few steps ahead and make a left down the path you see. His body is in the snow and barely visible. Looks kinda like a burnt part of snow and your curser changes when you mouse over it. Mangleclaw is straight ahead when you find this guy and he is lvl 11. easy

The quest and it's follow-on are all within the outpost section. Continue along the road for about 5 seconds. There is a fallen log on the left. A off shoot of the road heads west. Go along for about 3 seconds. I killed 2 snow cats before I find the body. The fight to more time then the run. Clicking on the body complete's one quest and gives you a second to kill a bear. You also get he's armour (mail AC 102)Continue west and the bear is another 3 seconds run away. Level 11 (non-elite). He is named. Kill him and run back to the guy who gave you the first quest. You get a choice between a dagger and a mace. Both quests take all of half a minute from start to finish. Got 420 exp and 850 exp at level 10.
