I'm going to need more samples, <name>. But--and I don't know how to put this--they have to be pure samples. I know, I know. "What does 'pure' mean, Laris?" I'm not sure. I do know that these are corrupt... just like Felwood. Which is what makes my realization so important. The oozes seem to adapt... to take on the aspects of the area they're in. I'll need to find samples that haven't been polluted. But where? Where?!

Bah! <name>, take these containers just in case you find any on your own.

lol, why are there like 50 posts of ppl stating the exact same thing... do you not read the posts above you?
After the first few confirmations of the location and what it drops off of, and that you cannot collect the ooze from clones.. there should be no further need to post where they are located.

Sorry.. I just see too many item comments like this.

End Of Discussion, until Blizz decides to change the quest, but I don't see that happening.

The pure samples are from any of the oozes in Un'goro.

There's two parts to this quest.

The first part you obtain samples from Felwood oozes (most easily found at the pools just north and south of the Jaedenar entrance).

The second part you get from the Un'goro oozes.

Maybe they changed the last patch, I was able to get a vial off every ooze, except the cloned ones.

I got them off both Primal and Muculent Oozes.

Slimes a quite common for every part of Un'Goro. However they are more presented in numbers at Central, West, and South-West parts of zone. Then you travel in Un'Goro just keep in mind that each 6-7th mob you meet will be a slime.

i found a couple muculent and glutinous oozes in the northern part of the un'goro map, but not many.&nbsp i had better luck killing the primal oozes which are more south under fire plume ridge.&nbsp they sometimes clone themselves at low life and u have to kill both, but good xp and double coin.&nbsp all the oozes were containable except for the cloned ones.&nbsp gl!

It works on all the oozes in Un'goro.&nbsp The only exception is the clone of the primal but will work on the original primal.

Here are the oozes that I've found that drop this:

Muculent Ooze
Primal Ooze
Glutinous Ooze

These are the ones I tested and can drop the samples. My guess would be *ANY* ooze in Un'goro can drop this.

When you ask Laris about where to find a pure sample of ooze, he rules out the eastern kingdoms all together, and says that the best place would be a valley or crater. This leads me to beleive that the Un'Goro Crater is the place to go for this quest. After I level up a bit more I'll know. :)

0d this quest today, you get the ooze from either of the kinds of the oozes in the un'garo crater.

Note: Confirmed that you can't get the sample from the cloned oozes.

I just got this quest (12/28/06) and it says to go to Felwood, and mentions nothing about the crater. Has this been updated? (I know a few have changed slightly like the Forsaken Messenger Quest In Arathi is a little different.)

ok i went and got the quest from IF and im not a retard i know how to use quest items and *!@# and im telling u that no matter how many of what kind of ooze that i kill whether its Glutinous or Primal Ooze or Muculent ooze after i kill them i select the body and try to scrape up the ooze with the jar and it says invalid target.....

Un'goro is right. Western side seems to have more of the oozes, but this is a quest that you'll have to wander for. no direct coords to give.

6800 XP at level 50 and reputation with Gnomeregan Exiles "greatly increased". Very easy... just kill the level 48 Muculent Oozes and collect. Watch out for Devilsaur though! )
