i found him at 36,57, behind the cauldron. a level 53 and a level 52. after clicking on the cauldron, i was hit by another lord.. this happened two more times till i was able to complete Q.. good luck, am a level 56 mage, NP doing this Q

The lords aren't a normal spawn, they appear/come up out of the ground when you get near the cauldron. Try it uncloaked, should work. Did this today.

The Cauldron Lord is not a normal spawn,he SPAWNS WHEN YOU START KILLING UNDEAD AROUND THE POT,so if you dont see him when your there,just kill the undead around the pot and he'll spawn,took me one kill and he did that

The Cauldron Lords only spawn when someone with the quest enters the area.

This quest was easy, he was standing right in front of the cauldron. Soloed him at lvl 53 no problems. piece of cake. Found him at the same coordinates that was listed in an earlier comment.

There's a repeatable side quest that you can get from Derrington once you do one (might have to do all 4 - my toon was bugged here) of the cauldron quests. He will sell you an item for a few silver, give you another item, and tells you to go collect 6 drops at the cauldron area (Sorry, I forgot the names of all these 3 things.). The item he sells you has a 30-minute time limit on it. You kill undead (As it turns out, undead anywhere in WPL drop the things you need, which are soulbound. I got the drop all over Andorhal - they stack up to 20.), until you have 6 of the dropped item. Then you go to the cauldron (I would guess it works at any cauldron.) you were working on before and right-click it, as you would for the main quest line. It takes the 6 drops you had, the item you bought from Derrington and 4 runecloth out of your inventory, and you get 525 experience. I think you might also get a small amount of faction, but I missed that, what with the confusion around the Dalson's Tears cauldron bug I saw (see other post here).

Seems like a useless side quest unless you need faction, but it is clearly repeatable and I don't think its listed here at Anonymous anywhere. Edit: Not useless, and it is for faction with AD.

Edit: see the guide on gaining faction with Argent Dawn - this quest is called "Cleansing the Cauldron." The guide is for Alliance, but Horde can get it from Derrington. You need 6 of the dropped items, not 4 as mentioned in the Guide. I think my shaman got it because of the bug I got that made the quest series disappear from my log when I did the Dalson's cauldron

I did the Felstone Field quest just fine - got the bottle from Vandis, whacked the cauldron boss, got the key, opened the cauldron, bottle filled, went back to Vandis, got this quest.

Then killed the Dalson's cauldron boss, got his key, opened the cauldron, and the whole quest vanished from my log, including the sample bottle.

Sending a ticket to a GM gets you the usual memorized response: "Go back to the quest giver and abandon the quest to start over."

Well, you can't abandon a quest that isn't in your log, which is what this bug does. Unfortunately, once you lose one of the series, you lose all of it, because they are in series.

Just something to be aware of...

I cant find the lord either i checked your lcations and i have been waiting for ages for respawn but nothing anybody got any idea?

Be aware that this quest DOES give +100 Argent Dawn Rep so you might want to wait til you're honored with Argent Dawn to do it.

says obtained at lvl 53, however its actually lvl 50 because I just completed it, lvl 50 mage.

Im a lvl 54 mage and did it in 2 mins the lord is in front of the caldren. Clear a path from the side and your there. Mana up and he has a guard nest to him and your done.

The spawn times on this quest are spurratic at best. It is somewhat ridiculous. But, the chain is worth it.

Something to remember with this quest is the entire structure is shown to be "clickable" with the gear, but you need to actually reach the cauldron and be on the front side of it to claim the quest.

i goto the cauldron stealthed, but i see no cauldron lord...&nbsp so i check all the buildings no luck, i check around the base again with no luck, i wait for respawns with no luck. Yes, i also made sure i was at the cauldron of felstone field..

he is right infront tht big pot who is shaking and is hooked up too chains... just be patient and he will show:)

No spawn in two days.

any 1 know where the key is?

This is starting to get annoying, I've been coming to Felstone Field for the past week trying to do this quest, and everytime there's always 2-5 lvl 60 horde. Seriously, do you guys have ANYTHING better to do other than fight mobs which aren't giving you any rep or xp?

Maybe this is common knowledge....often I am the last to know....but just in case anyone else has this experience.

I visited the first cauldron several times. Sometimes I slowly cleared the path to the cauldron..pulling the mobs one at a time.....sometimes other players had pretty much done it for me. So no big problem there. But I killed the cauldron lord several times and he didn't drop the key.

Last night I went up to the cauldron and right clicked...got the message I needed both the key and bottle. Later the cauldron guy appeared, and this time he did drop it.

Whether it was just me or everybody needs to make that right click on the cauldron first in order to loot the key I do not know. But if anyone is having the same experience I had, give the right click a try.

PS pulling big aggro over to the scarlet folks (next to the field...just to the east) to fight sounds inspired to me <g>
.....though I haven't tried it.May try it for fun sometime.

PPS if somebody is there first clearing the field for you...you can still do the quest. At least I was able to....the time that worked for me a group had already done most of the work. Obviously though if they get the first shot at the cauldron lord, they will get the drop. But hang around killing respawns until he appears again, and you will get it next.

Easy quest, do it with maybe 1 person because it's a little tough but if you clear 1 side of the Cauldron you can click on the chains to finish the quest. you don't need to be right beside the cauldron.

now it is 500 reputation with argent dawn

didnt see him when i walked up. Pulled a mob and there was a poof of smoke and he spawned
