Shadowmaw Claw (8)
Pristine Tigress Fang

Description

The power of the jungle's magic must be realized and then harnessed by the Horde. My rituals have proven successful so far. I can cast very powerful enchantments. For you, brave <class>, I shall make a special item indeed.

Bring to me some Shadowmaw Panther claws along with a Tigress fang. Not just any fang will do. It must be in pristine condition.

The beasts lurk throughout the jungle but you will find some close by, just across the river from Mizjah Ruins to the southeast.

The panthers you need are the stealth cats just south across the river from Grom'gol. You will also find the tigresses spawn in the same area. If you need more of either mob, work your way east to the other side of the road.

The claws dropped at a 100% rate for me every time I've done this quest. The pristine fang might require killing up to twenty tigers however.

Focus mostly on finding the tigresses, and kill panthers if they get in your way.
The claws have a 100% droprate, but the fang has a very low one- 5.2% stated on this site. I personally had to kill 68 tigresses in order to make it drop, and while I was finding them, I had killed ~40 panthers.
The tigresses and panthers can be found in the same areas as eachother, The area South-southeast of Grom'Gol(Before the Arena, around 36,38) has a pretty good concentration of them- other areas have other mobs as well(Such as the level 40 elite panther up at 48,23.

If you also complete the Panther Mastery chain up to the third part (https://classicdb.ch/?quest=192), you'll be able to get credit for killing the Shadowmaw Panthers for that quest, then loot them for their claws for this quest.

I followed the above cord's (37,35).

Came across my first Tigress and it dropped the fang and then proceded with killing the Panthers, with 100% drop rate. This was all done around the cord's of (37,35).

Very easy quest for a level 35 Hunter.

I went through 25,000 xp of tigers and panthers to get the stupid fang to drop this weekend, most people I know just drop this quest after trying to get the fang for a while. Seriously flawed drop rate for this quests xp reward.

A good place to do this quest would be 45,26 where there are both Shadowmaw Panthers and Stranglethorn Tigresses in abundance.

Do this quest together with [38] Panther Mastery because you're going to be killing a lot of those panthers.

Got the Pristine Tigress Fang after about 7 kills at 46,28.

Make sure while you're doing this quest that you grab Panther Mastery aswell, you can do both quests at the same time. Easily soloed this quest as a level 36 Rogue. They're found just east of the Mizjah Ruins. They're stealthed until you come closer, so you might have to walk around a bit till you see one. I can imagine how funny it would look to passers by who see me and a tiger appear out of no where when I come out of stealth to attack the tiger. :P

u can spot the tigresses as soon as u cross the river south from mizjah ruins @ 37,35. I got my fang in the first try and after that u can get shadowmaw further down south. They r hard to trak since they camo but they have a 100% drop they r as high as lvl 38. i completed it lvl 34 warlock solo

This quest sucks. The fang was easy enough to get but the claws almost never drop. So far I've killed at least 40 of those panthers and only have 3 claws. Very frustrating. Its hard enough finding the panthers but quest drops should be more frequent. Right now Im only managing less than 10 percent. They spawn just south of the Venture Co. Geologists.

Farming for these at the min, Gone from 37-40 on these bloody mobs, just trying to get the pristine tigress fang. I've killed well over 500 Tigresses, so either i'm the unluckiest person in the world, or blizzard hates me.

go figure.

EDIT: After contacting 3 different GM's about the Pristine Fang not dropping after days of farming for it, tey tell me to stop petitioning about it, and that the quest is not bugged. Thanks for the great customer support Blizz.

I guess I just got really lucky. Every creature I killed dropped one, including the tigress, so it took all of 10 minutes to complete. I guess the drop rate is incredibly random. Only netted like 1050 xp's for the kills..

Killed about 29 tigers via non-stop grinding and no drop. Gave up and went to do the Venture Co. quest, and then I found a lone tigress. What the hell, why not, I thought. Boom, it dropped the fang.

For people who don't use coordinates go on the other side of the river, east of Grom'gol but before you get to the path (there will be a friendly troll nearby). A bunch of Shadowmaws and Tigress hang out there. The Shadowmaw claws are an easy drop and I only had to kill around 7 Tigress before getting the fang.

A few days ago I was in a group of 3 doing this quest. The pristine tigress fang dropped on about the 80th kill (not exaggerating). Something I later considered was that we did most of the hunting on the east side of the main road. The actual drop was on the west side after a few dozen kills at most. Thankfully we were all able to loot the fang on one corpse.

I didn't have any problem with the fang, it dropped after about 6 tigress'. I was more upset with the panthers, because I only found the same 4 or 5 and had to keep waiting for them to respawn. But if you cross the river, east of grom'gol (right across from the ogre place) you will see a leatherworker troll, and the cats are all around that area.

I spent three hours killing tigresses after getting all the claws easily, but that pristine fang won't drop! I'm gonna go do some other quests and come back later.
Oh, btw, one guy recommends that you abandon the quest and get it again and that you won't lose your claws...that's not correct. After the last patch, if you abandon a quest, any items for that quest are deleted from your bags.

I went right here before beginning this quest and saw the drop rate for the fang was rather low :)

I followed one of the comments (Unwise's one i think) and went precisely to 41,37. I killed one tigress, and got the fang right away.

May be pure chance but i don't think so, so you know where to go for the fang :)

ok...i found that the claws drop 100% of the time and the fang drops about 1% of the time. I suggest doing this while doing Panther Mastery so you can knock off the Shadowmaw Panthers for 2 quests
