Curing the Sick

Use the Curative Animal Salve on 10 Sickly Gazelles that are located throughout the northern part of the Barrens; doing so should cure them. Sickly Gazelles have been reported north of the east-west road that runs through the Crossroads.
  •
Sickly Gazelle cured (10) [Apply Salve]
Provided Item:
Curative Animal Salve

Description

I was able to make enough salve for ten doses of curing, <name>. While I work with local authorities to try and make some more salve, I'd like for you to help us get a head start. All around the northern Barrens are sickly gazelles; use the salve on them and cure their malaise.

Dendrite Starblaze in Moonglade will want to talk to you when you're done, I'm sure. Please extend our thanks to the Cenarion Circle there... and let me say thanks to you directly for the help you've given!

A little disturbing, but you can do this to finish the quest faster:
- Cast entangling roots on the sickly animal
- Use the Curative Animal Salve before the damage from the roots kills it
- Wait for the animal to die, you'll get double credit

This way, you only have to look for 5 of them!

If you use entangling roots on the deer, then cure, you kill the deer, but as it dies, you get a second 'cure' credit.

Complete the quest in half the time - then throw away the rest of the salve!

Found this by accident (rooted the deer so it wouldn't wander too far) and laughed...

Probably an exploit, but a worthwhile one!

Not only can you still get double credit, but after they die you can skin them by right-clicking (even though the skinning icon doesn't show up). Good for a few leather scraps.

51.38 * 52,37 * 55,38 * 56,38 These are the cords where&nbsp I found Sticky Gazzeles. If you just leave crossroads and go towards The Stagnant Oasis you will find plenty of them to cure.
Remember to use entangling roots because 1 cured will count as 2 cured.

I like this better...

Partner with a priest...&nbsp (I am the priest and hubby is the druid)&nbsp I told him that to make his quest challenging I'd try to kill the gazelle before he could cure it (only half-hartedly of course).&nbsp I just could put a SW: Pain on it and they'd die after the cure and double credit :D.

I don't pretend to be really good at this game as a whole, but I do know a few tricks.

Firstly, allow me to introduce you to the concept of the 'trash' character.&nbsp
If you have more than 1 character in the same team (alliance/horde) then I recommend you make a level 10 Warrior 'trash character'.
At level 10 you will have access to the 'next' level of the professions and you will be able to find most of the ingredient bases (copper/tin veins, animals to skin, herbs growing)
The use of this trash char, is to gain and drop professions that require gathering so you don't have to mess up prime chars...

IE... use your trash char to gain Herbalism and then spend 5mins getting peacebloom to get to 15, then go pick 5 earthroots, give it to your druid and you're set... auction the remainder and forward the cash to your druid...

Hope it helps, it takes far less time to do it that way and does not require expenditure of valuable silver, if anything... it MAKES you a few silver...

Thanks!
And once you've rooted it, killed it and got double credit, why not skin it to run salt into the wound?

This was the easiest quest ever. I took the advice on rooting, curing, then killing. This worked. It gave me the credit for curing then turned around after I killed it gave me another credit. You only have to capture 5 of these and it will give you the full ten credit. It only took me a few seconds and I did not have to travel all over the barens to look for them.

I dont think there is specific spot to find these, but as the quest log said, there is plenty of them in northend barrens.
[adapted from lek,thottbot)

Double curing trick (still applicable in 2.08)
1.Entangle root the deer
2.Cure it using the salve
3.You got 1 point from normal cure, and another point when the deer is died due to damage from entangle root.

save time :)

Yes northern Barrens works well as the previous poster stated. As you run along the north road coming from Crossroads you will see 2 to 3 sickly gazelles on either side of the road, head all the way north till you are close to entering Ashenvale. Here you can either branch off left or right, each side has 3 to 4 gazelles spaced out evenly right after the next, run in a straight line and you will eventually stumble across each one of them.

Druid quest, available at level 14, relatively easy.

Very nice offhand for such a level. For healing RFC/WC/VC/Etc, of course, but still very nice.
