Again With the Zapped Giants

Use Zorbin's Ultra-Shrinker to zap any kind of giant found in Feralas into a more manageable form. Bring 10 Miniaturization Residues found on the zapped versions of these giants to Zorbin Fandazzle at the docks of the Forgotten Coast, Feralas.

Miniaturization Residue (10)
Provided Item:
Zorbin's Ultra-Shrinker

Description

I know you've gathered residue for me already... but should you find yourself for want of an encore performance to a fun-time activity, I can always use more residue.

While I can't offer nearly as much in the way of compensation again, I'll be more than happy to spread the good word of your service to all my goblin friends with ears.

Believe me < sir / madam> when I say that these goblins have quite large ears.

As of patch 1.9 this quest only gives 25 to Cartel factions each time, down from 75.

1. It is repeatable, but, since both items needed are quest items, you need to accept the quest to do it. Kind of a classic repeatable quest.

2. For those getting attacked by guards in the Goblin cities, while neutral... it's simple... YOU STARTED THE NON-DUEL FIGHT! Whoever starts the fight, gets mobbed by the goblin bruisers.

3. This is the only way to increase your reputation with the goblins of the Steamwheeldle Cartel, as a whole. Otherwise, there is a repeatable for Gadgetzan alone. Only reason to gain reputation with them is to hit Honored, for the 10% discount in their cities.

This quest awards 25 reputation the first time, 5 each other times.

Interesting thing to note is this is one of the very few quests that doesn't hurt your Bloodsail reputation. Hence if you wanna have a friendly reputation with both the goblins and the pirates, this is one of the best quest to be done repeatedly.

Confirmed: Both this quest and the Fuel for the Zapper quest are repeatable, but no longer with any XP rewards. Definitely felt like I wasted my time doing them for a second time. The "!" and "?" should be blue after the first turn in.

Just a quick note. The "zapper" has that 2 hour timer on it. After 2 hours, it's gone. Also important is that if the timer runs out on it, and you want to complete the quest again, you have to abandon the quest. You will also have all of the miniaturization residue destroyed. So if you have 9 out of 10 and the zapper timer runs out, you're back to zero.

In my opinion, these repeatable quests aren't worth it.

The mountain giants in the NW corner of the map can also be shrunk. So, this quest can be completed at the same time as the Horde "mountain giant muisek" quest.

Question is what's the use in gaining rep with Steemwheedle Port?
Rating: +5 [-] [+]
By Anonymous on 10/29/2005 (Patch 1.8.2)
The Zapper says it only lasts 2 hours, that's why.

Just drop the quest and pick it up again, you will still have all of the Miniaturization Residue from previous kills.

Ok you guys this is a waste of time UNLESS your trying to get rep back from choosing bloodsail, im lvl 49 and im Honored with every goblin faction and all i did was do my normal thing QUEST to gain EXP just so happens i chose tanaris and STV to quest in because those were quest hotspots.

I did this quest again. The quest was written in red in my log so I thought I'd get lots of xp but only got 550, yes 550 xp. So although it was an easy quest, it wasn't worth 550, you might as well kill 11 giants and get the same xp.

The 550xp is the standard xp you get for rep quests. One that comes to mind is the Argent Dawn Valor Token's one. So my guess is you gain a miniscule rep increase with the steamwheedle cartel for doing this over and over.

This is an excellent repeatable reputation quest, especially for druids.&nbsp It awards 75 reputation for all the factions within the Steamwheedle cartel, and it's easy to do.&nbsp I can do it in less than ten minutes on my druid.&nbsp The giants are most plentiful underwater, have a fast respawn, and aquatic form gives you a major competitive edge.&nbsp

This quest awards reputation for the Steamwheedle Cartel faction, about 0.01530 first time I turned in the repeating version. It's probably marked level 55 so it will keep paying off all the way up to 60.

Red quests never pay off more while they are red, they don't start dropping till they get yellow.

The next time you're wondring why the BB guards are attacking you and not the annoying prick who's ganking you... it's prolly because he's turned this quest in way more times than you.

I was in the middle of re-doing the quest (7 of 10 collected) and went to use it, but it had disappeared. It said good for 2 hours, but I thought it shank the giants for 2 hours.
