Water Elemental Core (6)

Description

More work, you say? Did my heroic mission of collecting bits of goo found inside elemental beings not slake your thirst for adventure? Perhaps more of the same will vainly try to fill the bottomless well of questing you possess...

OK, melodrama aside, I do need more water elemental cores. I'm trying desperately to set up shop here, so the rewards won't be as great... but I promise you I'll tell everyone in earshot how you've helped me. Trust me on this - I know people in the Cartel!

It's listed as level 55 so level 60s can get some mileage out of it.&nbsp Many of the repeatable reputation quests in the game are low level, which makes doing them at level 60 incredibly tedious.&nbsp This quest, however, is high enough level it will never go grey, and you will always get the full reputation reward.

I just did this quest 3 or 4 times as a 46 hunter.&nbsp Though the mobs are cake the drop rate is horrible.&nbsp Also i gained no experience after the first turn in.&nbsp All turns after the first were only 21s and 25rep. If you are a questing nerd like me you should have all of these places at honored already if you quested all of Ratchet, Booty Bay and Tanaris.

My opinion.. waste of time repeatable..

Seems like this one and the Zapping one are just repeatable quests for 550 experience and 1.25% Rep with the Steamwheedle Cartel (1.25% rep for the following:&nbsp Booty Bay, Everlook, Gadgetzan & Ratchet).&nbsp Getting to Honored at each of those should get a 10% lower price bonus on all items for sale in those towns.

This really isn't worth the effort for a lower level player. I did it at level 49, but 21s reward isn't going to even cover my armor repairs. Added to the fact that the drop rate absolutely sucks and that the elementals don't even drop very much by way of other stuff and then factor in zero XP and you get the picture - really not worth the effort unless you want the reputation points.

If you're repeating this for the rep gain, you're probably better off just running Again With the Zapped Giants.&nbsp It's more amusing, the miniaturized giants don't hit quite so hard, and they drop quest items a lot more often than the elementals do.

This drop rate of the elementals absoutley sucked.
And after i got a few the next 20 i killed dropped absolutley nothing at all.

The rewards you get at the end are even worse

Only good thing about this quest is the exp you get i did with 48 hunter and got around 300 exp each

I don't understand why this is level 55, yet the previous part of the quest is level 48. You have to kill exactly the same mobs to collect exactly the same items, just a few less of them...

Why this is a level 55 quest is beyond me. The highest Water Elemental I saw was level 49, and I was soloing them without too much trouble at 46 on my Ret Paladin.

droprate seems to have gone down by a bit

If you could solo the pre-quest to this one, you can solo this one. Since if you're level 46 you see this quest as Red.

This was very easy and simple as a lvl 46 druid to solo. Just watch the aggro from the other elementals and take it slow and steady, it's a piece of cake. Did it at the same time as Zapped Giants so I had plenty to do without worrying about the drop rate.

I got some very nice drops from this too, and made a ton of money. Very fun, and profitable quest!

This quest is both Horde and Alliance. I just completed it on my L50 Troll Mage. Very easy quest.

I got:

550xp
21s

And it is repeatable.

First turn in is worth around 4k for this and the other one from the same NPC.. the xp value above is referring to the repeat.

This quest you should deffinately do alone the drop rate is so low that you will never complete it in a good ammount of time Level 46 is good for this as long as you don't have cloth armor

this doesn't reduce your reputation with Bloodsail Buccaneers, so this and http://classicdb.ch/?quest=7725 are - afaik - the only ways to get your reputation up with Booty Bay, and still stay Revered with the Bloodsail Buccaneers.
