Healthy Courser Gland (4)

Description

The mosshoof coursers of Azshara are magnificent animals who once lived in Felwood. They naturally resist disease and poison, and were unaffected by the corruption there. In their ancestral wisdom, they simply chose to leave that sickened place.

It saddens my heart, but I must ask you to hunt these mighty beasts for me. Gather four courser glands as the first ingredient for a restorative salve -- a salve we will use to heal Felwood.

You'll find they're really all over around the mountains, and can often be found in good bulk south of the mountains. See this link to get a better idea:

https://classicdb.ch/?npc=8761

Note, though, that the drop rate is terrible!

The mosshoof coursers i found wandering on 64,22 till 73,32
I had to kill 7 to get the 4 courser glands...so an easy drop.

P.S. also seen 1 on location 54,30

Ok - here's the big secret for those who can't seem to put 2 and 2 together.

Go back to the top of the page.
Click on the link provided - Healthy Courser Gland
That will pull up the Thott page that shows what critters drop these - turns out there's 2 levels of Mosshoof Coursers that can drop them
Each of the critters than can drop them has a "map" link next to them - click on that link and you're presented a map of the area with the known locations of the critters highlighted.

It's just that s i m p l e.

So, taking the combined advice from above...
I found Ongtinc by following the cliff ring that sourounds The Ruins of Eldarath to the North and East.&nbsp He's a Timbermaw type creature (but no reputation bounus) and can be found at about the farthest eastern and northern part of the cliffs above Eldarath.

Then I headed off to gather some Courser Glands.&nbsp I found a bunch of Mosshoof Coursers (lvl 52-53s) due east of Forlorn Ridge.&nbsp Pretty easy bunch, not much of anything else running around.

So I killed 1, nothing.&nbsp Then the next 3 dropped glands, then killed 11 more for the last (4th) gland to drop.&nbsp And they respawn at a decent rate, but not quickly.

Bring an Incor of Undeath with you and turn it in right away at the end of this quest.&nbsp Rested, it was the easiest 10200xp I ever earned.

Good luck.

Names aren't hard, and I'll share them without the air of arrogance.&nbsp How's that for a fresh breath of something?

You're looking east of where you got the quest -- Ursolan and the Legash Encampment.&nbsp They're not plentiful, but they're there.&nbsp I've had to kill a ton of them to get even 2, though, so this supposed "high drop rate", I'm not seeing it.

I killed about 10 coursers in the northern most area and got nothing.&nbsp Later on, I tried the southern area and got all 4 glands from about 9 kills.&nbsp The drop rate should be the same in both areas, I know!&nbsp But I would suggest the southern area.&nbsp you have to avoid the elites and other nasties, but it worked for me! :)

Blizzard must hate holy priests. I'm writing this as I do it, and have had about one in every three smites resisted, it's really annoying. But no, I like being holy anyway. And so far good droprate for me, plenty at 51, 24

60,14 seems to have quite a few... they are hard to find but there is about 6-7 of them closely together. They are slightly higher there about lvl 52-53 and the drop rate seems better too

ran north, killed 6 coursers w/out aggro'n any birds although I had a few Timbermaws come after me ... and no, I didnt kill any of them. Had the 4 glands and was back in no more than five minutes. lvl50 SP. Says more coursers to the south, but if you run north towards the cliffs, the mobs are pretty spread out.

I don't know if anyone else had this problem, but these things are BLOODY IMPOSSIBLE to find! Out of all the different cords listed here I've only found a measly two of these creatures. One of which dropped his guts. Was this changed in a patch maybe? These things are just nowhere to be found for me.

UPDATE: I dunno if things have changed in the new patch or something, but all of the cords above don't seem to hold any of the coursers anymore. However, there were loads in and around 38, 72. Close to where the elite dragonkin are. All of them were level 52-53.

48,27 had NO coursers when I checked it, just hippogryphs.

I hunted between 48,20 and 54,17 (Ursolan and Legash Encampment areas) - nothing in first 10 kills, then got all 4 in the next 7 kills.

Hippogryphs and coursers around 54,25 share the same respawn spot. That means that if you see lots of hippogryphs and no coursers, kill some hippogryphs and with some luck coursers will spawn in that spot in a couple of minutes.

This quest is kinda hard due to the low drop rate, but if you farm both hippogryphs and coursers in the same area, you can kill the last doing a circle and have the first respawn, so you can keep killing them without having to stop or walk around trying to find more.

This way you will reduce the chances of getting mad on the quest and giving it up. :P

This is a easy soloable quest. You just got to go to the right place and kill the mobs.

I started this quest at 37.68. There I found 3 of them, then I just walked the way around Lake Mennar (The zone with 50+ elites) and found more of them. I went down to 44.80 where I found my last one.

They are level 52/53, does not attack and enrages at low hp, be careful with the enrage. :D

I got the 4 items after 10 kills and it didn't take long time either.

Awards 7350 XP (Level 50 Draenei Priest) andgives you the next quest in the chain.
