The Missing Diplomat

Speak to Dashel Stonefist in Stormwind.

Description

Yeah, now that I think about it... Dashel... Dashel something... What was his name? FIST! Dashel Stonefist. They call him Fist in some circles--probably on account that he likes to get in brawls.

You can find him in Old Town usually--right smack dab in the center of it. Go talk to him. If you have to, use a sword or something heavy and blunt to persuade him to open up some. And don't hesitate. If he's in this as deep as these papers suggest, then he's not going to give you any information willingly.

Fist is located in the side alleyway inside of Old Town.

When you attack him, he does have 2 level 26 helpers.&nbsp He is level 26 as well.

Keep this in mind.

You'll only need to reduce Dashel's HP to about 50%.

He'll then call off his buddies and give you the next step (talk to trias) :)

i'm a lvl 30 mage.

all i had to do, was frost nova then run back so the guards and main guy couldn't hit me.

then all i did was pyroblast the main guy, he lost half his health, and everyone backed off me, quest complete, no health lost.

An EASY quest for mages. =D

Quests as good as this should really shouldn't be thottbot'd. I had so much fun doing this entire quest series. I wish all the quests were as good as this one. The Legend of Stalav quest was also quite good as well as Raene's Cleansing. These are 3 very good quest series. I'd like to see more quests like these in the future.

If you have problems with him and his guards, try this.&nbsp Speak to him, get him mad, get attacked by his two guards, run out to the Canal District, they will not follow into this district (don't go on or over the bridge, this will fail quest).&nbsp Head back to alley.&nbsp Pull out one or both guards (Dashel won't follow).&nbsp Kill them.&nbsp Go back into alley, stay as far away from Dashel as you can (if you have ranged attack - otherwise, run up to him) and fight him.&nbsp Worked for me.

Apparently months ago this quest was bugged. I am doing it right now to check if it is possible to complete or not. Will give updates soon.

Fist can be found in the Old District of StormWind. Once you enter the place you will see a gold dot on your mini map, just go to him. Once you talk he will challenge you to a fight, just weaken him enough and the fight will stop and he'll give you the information that you need. (Im ashamed to admit that this guy killed me 4 times before a friend of mine finally helped me) Hes not an elite, just a normal enemy. This quest must have been easy for warriors and hunters, but my mage certainly got a whooping before i could finish this.

If you die trying to kill Hendel, do you fail the quest? Many said they abandoned it when they died, so I'm trying to put two and two together.

I was apprehensive as a 28 warrior i thought i'd fear his bodyguard and use retaliation or something like that. Resisted my fear i was killed. Got a nearby lvl60 rogue to kill him in one hit on 2nd try.

After i failed it i resed and talked to Mikel? and it was the same quest again which is where the 60 rogue came in.

For those that dont have anything to show coords, heres where he's at.

Stormwind, in Old Town. You have to go down an alley thats on the left, before Heavy Handed Weapons, and after Honest Blades. (if you're going NW) Turn left as you see the Five Deadly Venoms sign. Dashel Stonefist will be straight ahead at 71,45. When you turn in the quest you have to defeat him ( and an " old town thug " appears as well ) I believe that they're both lvl 26.

But doable. Level 28 warrior. Just attack him and ignore the thugs, throw everything you've got at him. He'll call off the thugs when he's on 1/4 health. I just managed to get him that far when I had about 10 health left but I did it. Just ignore the thugs and beat him down.

Problem: I died during this quest and so the quest said "failed". After rezzing and returning, I wasn't able to try it again (no question marks above any quest-givers in the chain, such as Dashel).

A friend suggested I abandon the quest, then re-get it from Trias. So I abandoned it, but he didn't have a "?" either. I went back to Old Town and Dashel still wasn't active. I went back to the PREVIOUS quest-giver, Watcher Bachus, and he was also non-quest-giving.

Did I abandon the ENTIRE CHAIN and have to start it all over again? That seems weird since I've completed half of them...

Don't know when they did this, but from comments this quest has changed. It's now Dashel and two thugs, all level 26. I tried this at level 30 (warlock) and it wasn't really doable - the thugs come after you regardless of distracts or pets. I can set my pet on Dashel to keep him busy but the thugs get me anyway. Try again in a level or two I think.

I did this as a 28 Priest. I think the easiest way to do it is to only worry about attacking Dashel, because once you get his Health to about 1/4, he'll call off the thugs, and then you've completed the quest.
