This quest is a pain. Like he said, VERY bad drop rate, and the murlocs are very annoying. They are throwers, so its bad for casters. Also, they throw nets at you, and walk backward, preventing non-casters to hit them. Like all kind of murlocs, they run away and lure 90,000 more murlocs to attack you when they have low health. I'd suggest you do this quest in a group (preferably with friends or people who arent on the quest - so you will get all quest items :P) to end it as soon as possible. Better bring some underwater breathing potions or a warlock if you plan to kill the murlocs underwater. There are some on the shore, but you may have to wait long for respawn. I personally dropped that quest - did it only on my main.

There is another camp of murlocs south along the coast from the ship where you first see them, and its usually less crowded.

if you are a warrior, try to align this (and the preceeding) quest with Iron Coral: https://classicdb.ch/?quest=1708s

You will be fighting the exact same annoying murlocs in the exact same place.

well, for me, i got like 20% drop from the murlocs near the ship, but i got like.. 100% from the murlocs south of the ship in the water. =) hope this helps.

The drop on this is exceptionally streaky and random.

I've done it with 3 different characters and can assure you they drop from the raiders, anywhere in the bay.&nbsp If you have water breathing it helps as the spawn rate on these is nearly 10minutes.

One character took 2 hours another about 10minutes.&nbsp Its completely random....good hunting.

Alright, if you're facing south looking at the waterlogged chest, swim to the west about 50 yards, and there will be some raiders there in the water. There will also be a small camp w/ 4-5 raiders to the left on land. I kill a total of 8 murlocs and got the 4 pieces I needed. Make sure you all are killing the right murlocs! Bluegill Raiders, they're level 29 or so.

I had no trouble getting these, you get one from the chest on the boat, and the others from the merlocs around the boat - the boat and merlocs is 12,56(cosmos) I did it at level 28 (1750xp)

All in all, I had to kill about 30 murlocs to complete this quest. It was frustrating because I killed about 20 murlocs before I got even one bar, and then after I got the first one I finished the quest in like 5 kills. I got all of my bars at the camp to the south at loc 10, 70. The other murlocs closer to the wrecked boat didn't drop any for me at all, so if you are having trouble, maybe try the camp down south, seemed to be the only place they would drop for me.

I have been trying for hours and still havent got one, this quest is really annoying! I must have already killed about 80 murlocs.

Is there a certain area where the drop is better?

the wreckage is directly to the south of menethil harbor (exact coordinates are 12. 64), you dont have to go out of the town, one ingot is in a chest on the ship, the others ones you have to get on the murloc's around the area (either underwater or in thier camps)

as for the debate on whether the drops are more common when you are near the ship, im not sure. all i know is that i was killing murloc raiders in baradin bay (the area directly west/left of the ship) and they were still dropping the lightforge ingots

Here is the correct drop rate:

28&nbsp Bluegill&nbsp 18.4%
29 Bluegill Raider 17.2%

I got mine 5 quest items in 8 kills though. Really easy quest.

it took me about 25-35 minutes it was annoying... the mulocs will jump you if you do anything wrong...have a warlock or water breathing potion....it will annoy you this quest wont take a long time at all unless you die...i reccomend lvling until the quest is green this way when they jump you it will be a lower rate chance of them killing you.

Ok, so I went into this one with my level 30 dwarf hunter and her cloud serpant.&nbsp Took me less than 15 minutes (which I know because it was within a server shutdown count...hehe).&nbsp Didn't have any trouble.&nbsp Killed maybe 7 murlocs for the 4 extra ingots.&nbsp I stayed right around the ship, killing in the water, and the few on the land right there.&nbsp Easy peasy!

After reading all your comments I decided to go on my own and I can really assure I found a place with a decent DROP RATE...

Go to the Murloc Village at 9.70, they drop Ingots at a RATE of 33%-50%.

Go for it and thanks.

Bye

There is another underwater murloc camp that drops inglots in the northeast corner of wetlands (around 27,19 thottbot coordinates). There the droprate rate is very decent and there are enough murloc to kill without waiting. Note that all Murloc Raider may drop Inglot Bars but not another species of murlocs will.

The ingots seem to have a low drop rate. It took me about 40 minutes to get them all as a level 27 mage (experience reward was 1750 at level 27). I found that the ignots droped more frequently from the raiders around the boat vs down the shore. Just my experience. Good luck!

At level 26, 1750 experience and 75 reputation with Ironforge...

I don't know if Blizzard gave different drop rates to different groups, but I killed lots of bluegill raiders on land and didn't get any ingots whatsoever. The single raider on the deck of the ship and the ones in the water down below dropped them pretty frequently, though, and I had them in no time once I got off my behind and actually bothered to kill the raiders in the water and dive down to collect my loot. :) These guys are pretty good for those with money troubles, though--I mostly found one silver and change on each.

You people are idiots. The ones by the boat do not have a higher rate. They are the same exact mob, their drop rate is the same. Why would Blizzard make a higher drop rate in one area? That makes no sense. Use your heads.

Took me dozens of kills to get those 4. Probably was at it more than an hour, although they are everywhere.....I hate when the run and bring back others, dies few times like that. Patience...that's all I have to say, other than that they are easy.
