Slay Grol the Destroyer, Lady Sevine, and Archmage Allistarj. From their corpses take the Amulet of Grol, the Amulet of Sevine, and the Amulet of Allistarj.

You don't need to use the weapons given to you in previous steps to fight these bosses. Just talk to the Fallen Hero of the Horde and tell him you've lost the weapons and you'll be given some Fel Salve that works just as well. Saves you from gimping yourself by changing to inferior weapons.

More information regarding this exists in the Enchanted Azsharite Fel Weaponry step of this series: https://classicdb.ch/?quest=3625

The NPC giving you an enchanted weapon to use against demons from this quest says something like: "you can use it only once per three minutes" - we evaluated it to be not true today. You can spam the weapon's use effect nearly continuously.

Effects the weapon has on bosses (when used):
  • Grol - it shrinks him, making his attacks WAY weaker. As a level 60 druid in bear form i had no chance to survive without using the weapon. Remember to use the weapon as soon as you see him grow back.
  • Lady Sevine - after few tries we discovered that using a weapon can interrupt her summoning of infernals. We were duoing it with a rogue as dps, and me - druid tanking, so only a rogue get to use her weapon and wasn't as effective as two people could be when it comes to interrupts, but it reduced the number of mobs hitting us.
  • Allistarj - we used a weapon on him of course, but I cannot say what it really did. We had no problems with downing him, and I believe each group (even group of two ;) ) doing this quest won't have problems here.
Sidenote: we also tried using the weapons effect on Rakh'likh. I noticed the graphical effect same as the three previous demons, but again cannot say for sure what it really did. I guess it doesn't hurt to use it on him too, anyway.

I hope my comment will be helpful to all people out there doing the old pre-TBC lvl 60 quets ;)

This is a quest in a chain of 23 that runs pretty much all over the map.
However, it all starts with the Fallen Hero of the Horde.
(Hat tip to Xeir for the initial connectors between chains.)

Technically, it's four chain quests that tie into each other:
Chain 1:
1. Fall From Grace
2. The Disgraced One
3. The Missing Orders
4. The Swamp Talker

Chain 2:
1. Petty Squabbles
2. A Tale of Sorrow
3. The Stones That Bind Us
4. Heroes of Old
5. Heroes of Old

Chain 3:
1. Kirith
2. The Cover of Darkness
3. The Demon Hunter
4. Loramus
5. Breaking the Ward
6. The Name of the Beast
7. The Name of the Beast
8. The Name of the Beast
9. Azsharite

Chain 4:
1. The Formation of Felbane
2. Enchanted Azsharite Fel Weaponry
3. Return to the Blasted Lands
4. Uniting the Shattered Amulet
5. You Are Rakh'likh, Demon

Completing the entire chain gives you the following:
103,685XP at appropriate level
Shard of Afrasa
Enchanted Azsharite Felbane (Dagger, Sword or Staff)
Necklace of Sanctuary
Demon's Blood
Demon Hide Sack

Well the Allijstar guy is in the same cave as Kirith, Grol the Destroyer is up in the Ogre Fortress in the NW. And Forgot her name is by the Altar of the Storms just right outside of it. She summons lvl 54, 55 infernals. The rest of them are all 58 Elites, Grol was the hardest. He does massive dmg and is immune to most things.

This two parts we have done were done at start with a 57 Warrior, 2x57 Priest, and my 57 Hunter the warrior and one of the Priests reached 58 during The Amuluet of Grol portion, which we did first.

We learned during the part we did first that you must Right click on the weapon you got previosly in Stranglethorn Vale repeatedly during the battle with the Boss Types.&nbsp If you dont you wont be able to kill them.&nbsp They are immune to most spell types and although they will take physical damage you cannot finish them with that, you must use the weapons you were given and right click them repeatedly.

All three Mobs are found in the Blasted Lands.

Amulet of Allistarj&nbsp Allistarj is a level 58 Elite in the same Cave as the huge level 55 Elite Helboar looking creature you had to kill in a previous quest on the East side in a cave.&nbsp You take a left at the only junction rather than go straight.&nbsp Clear the room of all the Mobs except Allistarj then change to the weapon you got from Galvan in Stranglethorn Vale and use Melee combat and right click on the weapon while attacking.

Amulet of Grol&nbsp Grol is a level 58 Elite Ogre that is just south west of the cemetary in a small fort looking place.&nbsp He is straight inside the building, kill the two Ogres on each side of the building and go in, our best luck with getting the 5 or 6 Ogres other than Grol was when my Hunter used bow shots to pull them outside and we killed them there.&nbsp We fought Grol several times before we killed him, this is where we learned of the right clicking after the fourth attempt and got him on the fifth.&nbsp Best bet is to clear the room of all Ogres before getting him, if you are carefull you can do this, if you agro him too, just give it a try, the Ogres do fall pretty easy.&nbsp Dont let up on him, he hit hard, he was hitting us normally for 400 plus and sometimes as high as 1500.

Amulet of Sevine&nbsp I dont remember what the title of her is, but Sevine is the last of three words.&nbsp She is a level 59 Elite.&nbsp She is behind an Alter south of the Ogres on the west side.&nbsp If you find an Ogre cave then the alter is North West.&nbsp The Priests left us after the other two and once we learned about the right clicking and the others fell easily we felt confident we could do it.&nbsp We found her pretty easy, as you get up to the alter go around it as wide as you can to the right (east) and kill the two mobs on the way around.&nbsp She will be the Third one.&nbsp Shortly after you start your attack at least 2 huge Elementals appear to assist her, you will need healing on this one so if you are a healer type that needs the quest, find another to heal you and have a friend or two that can help with the adds.

Sorry I dont have cords, the Blasted lands are small so you wont have to search long if you dont know where these places are. Good luck and happy hunting.

sure enough i show up and there is a farmer there who did exactly what you said. sooooo i killed him and then camped his corpse for a few more kills for being such a &*!@#$.

I believe this is the longest chain in the game. I haven't seen a longer one. What bothers me is the age-old solo vs. group issue. The earlier stages of the quest can be soloed by almost anyone at the right level. The later ones (starting with Hetaera) cannot. This stage certainly cannot be done alone, even as a savvy 60.

Some of us time-constrained players cannot easily do group quests, except maybe at 2:00 in the morning. I am not suggesting that Blizzard eliminate group quests far from it. But I am suggesting that they let us know which is which. My 60 Druid made it there doing very few group quests and only 3 (failed) instances. But I mis-spent a lot of time "discovering" that quests that looked like solo quests were, in fact, not. Occasionally there's a hint, such as in "Don't Go There Alone (or whatever the quest to get Blazerunner is called)," but this is too rare.

I may come back and try this again with a group but I will probably abandon it because by the time I get enough people from my guild organized and ready to roll, I'm out of time. Again. Disappointing. But so far, this has been one of my favorite quests.

Good luck to all of you and don't forget to use the weapon. It doesn't work very well but you can't beat these guys without it.

Just did this with lvl 60 hunter and a 57 priest (me 59 rogue). Had no problems with any of them.

Allistarj is in the same cave as Kirith, lvl 58 (elite).
Sevine is on the east side of altar of storms, lvl 59 (elite).
And Grol is in the ogre camp in northwestern BL, lvl 58 (elite).

We went with a pretty well equipped group of 2 mages and 1 paladin. First did allistarj. He was relatively easy and we just spammed arcane missiles and he died relatively quick. Note: All bosses are immune for all magic except for arcane and melee and if you dont use the weapon you got prior to this mission, you can't get him lower then 1%.
Sevine was a LOT harder though. Since the tank was a paladin aggro was lost relatively quick even though we had salvation on us. After wiping twice we just ignored the infernals she calls down and focused on nuking her. We had to push everything we had, potions, mana cookies, shields, cold snap, ice block, etc. But after 3 wipes or so we prevailed.
The last boss the ogre in Dreadmaul hold was just insane. The worthless lvl 47 adds around him are easily pulled and swat down, but he himself hit incredibly hard. Without a dedicated tank and healer this had no chance and we called it a night.

60 Lock (me)
60 Lock
60 Mage
60 Shaman

The bosses seem to be immune to fire & shadow, but for some reason, the other 60 lock was able to get SB's and Searing Pains, etc. to hit.&nbsp I'm not sure why as none of my spells worked (had to use my wand with nature damage) but he was the only one who didn't have the sword on him.&nbsp The mage and I had our swords (shaman didn't have the quest).&nbsp I basically did the sword ability on each of the bosses the whole time.&nbsp Put it on one of your hotkey bars to make it easy on your group.

We opted for Allistarj first and had a rough start because we forgot to use the sword's ability.&nbsp Oops.&nbsp We were pouring on the DPS at 1% but he wasn't dropping, so we wiped.&nbsp Second time around I made sure to use the sword's ability and we had no problems.&nbsp

Grol was next and we accidentally aggro'd him while clearing the room out.&nbsp We lost both the other lock and the mage but we made it.&nbsp When you use the sword's ability on Grol he shrinks down in size so you know it's working.

Last up was Sevine and she was relatively straightforward.&nbsp The best time to use the sword is when she appears to be summoning the felhounds.&nbsp if you get her with the sword it stops them from being summoned.

When your group is killing Allistarj if you have a paladin in your group, every time you use the weapon he can strike with hammer of wrath even if Allistarj still has 100% HP. it also seems to break his cast, but cant say for sure.

Just soloed as a 63 protection paly, Lady Sevine was quite hard, had to use lay on hands, but her Infernals kind of helped the dps, my reckoning was active all the way.

Tried my own sword with the Fel Salve and got little damage on him (used 2 activations). Then tried the Fel sword and had to keep activating it every 15 secs (guess). Finally on the sixth try it no longer worked. It made the sound and lights but no effect. Barely got him down 25%. Level 60 Pally. My advice get a group with some serious dps. Oh, and the salve spell is a slow one so expect 3 blows from him. The sword is near instant. It reminded me of the giant quest on the shore of Ferelas except that it got easier to kill them where Grol was hardly made easier at all.

Grol bugged for us as well (eu, sunstrider). Opened a ticket, we'll see if they can fix it within reasonable time.

Kinda annoying, so much planning to get everyone on the quest online at the same time and the mob is bugged.

Ah well. At least you can train weaponskills on this guy )

Edit

GM Responded, told me the mob is bugged and they're trying to fix it. Sigh. Hopefully it'll work after this weeks maintenence.

grol is soloable by hunters using the same tactic as the demon in Winterspring for epic quest. for sevine had to get a druid to help out with the infernals that spawn he would just root each one when they spawned as i dragged her across the zone kiting her. yes i know druids can only root one mob at a time, but when you have cheetah on and she is chasing you they loose aggro and eventually despawn. havent tried the last guy yet will post again when i do

I was doing it as 0/41/10 (full feral) druid with Rank12-13 gear.

- Amulet of Allistarj (65.1 , 32.6 inside cave)- he's a mage. Casting Fire/Frost spells.
Didn't even bother with Bear Form. Opened with Ravage, Mangled my way to 5CP and FB'ed (immune to bleeds). At around half HP shifted out, Regrowth+Rejuvenation and used Fel Salve. Went down without problems.

- Amulet of Grol (43 , 14 inside building) - melee this time. He hit like TRUCK. Going without healer is a bad idea.
Hint: Keeping Curse from Fel Salve lower his damage almost by half. Adds in room are pullable without aggroing him.

- Amulet of Sevine (40.7 , 30.0) - she's a caster too. Warlock. So yeah, it was hard :P. She cast Immolate, Shadow Bolt and Summon Infernals (up to four i think).
Same here, opened in Cat at 5CP FB'ed and shifted out to Regrowth+Rejuvenation and to use quest item. Shifted Bear and started to tank her with Infernal. At about half HP i had to heal again - used Barkskin to prevent interruption while casting. Usual combo (Regrowth+Reju) + Healing Touch11 and finished her. Ended with like 20% HP so had to drink a pot to survive 4 burning rocks beating on me.

dont use the weapon, i just found out the fallen hero of the horde has an option to give u a Fel Salve incase you destroy your weapons. I didn't destroy my weapon, but he gave me the fel salve anyways, and its better than the weapons! read on

"this item is better than the weapons we get for this quest. lol it doesnt have an equip cooldown, where u have to wait 30 seconds after equipping it before you can use it. it also doesnt have a 10 minute cooldown like the weapons do once used! so u can use this more than once in a single fight, which they don't let you do with the weapon, and since the debuff doesnt last very long, its a lot more useful than the damn weapons. now u can use your regular weapon and not take a hit to your stats, and get extra debuff. lol i dont know why everyone doesn't think of this! get it by talking to the fallen hero of the horde, once u have gotten the weapon. he has an option where u can tell him you destroyed ur azsharite weapon, and hell give you this potion."
