Find the final piece of Dartol's Rod and return to Shael'dryn at the moonwell.

	Iron Pommel

Description

The final piece of the rod was given to the druids of Dor'danil for safekeeping. I have no idea where they hid it. I'm sorry I can't help you more than that.

All I can tell you is to follow the road that leads towards the Barrens. The druids took shelter to the east of that road, but they won't be of much help to you: they were killed recently... it's something I don't like to think about much.

When you find the final piece, bring it to me and I will help you reconstruct the rod.

As you travel East from Astranaar, you will come to a fork in the road with a sign pointing to The Barrens.

Take this road south. On the right (west) side you will see Skywing Outpost (Alliance).

At this point, stray from the road, going off to the left (EAST) and start killing the brown slimes (level 21-22). Shouldn't take more than five kills.

If you get to the big Horde encampment, you have gone too far south.

When I found it, the chest was just laying on a corpse that I happened upon. If you get lucky you can let someone else do the work of killing the slimes!

The slimes are South of Splintertree Post (East of Astranaar).
The Entrance - Without running into a lot of Red NPC's -&nbsp is along the road just before Splintertree Post (To the south).

Dropped off a Rotting Slime (lvl 21) between the Warsong Labor Camp and The Dor'Danil Barrow Den. The chest is named Rusty Chest and it really drops on the ground, you won't get a chest into your inventory to open via looting a slime, the chest isn't locked either. So watch the ground around your killed Slimes, not to miss the chest.
There was 28 copper and a Silk Cloth in it, too )

i found mine at 73,70....it was the first slime i killed...it will be in a box that it drops you must open the box seperatley you dont get the box when you loot it.

Dor Danil Barren is the name of the section of Ashenvale that they are in (the directions given are accurate).

They won't dropt the chest everytime but it was just a few kills for me before I got one. On a PvP server, this area is pretty scary to go to at these levels. The NPC night elf rogues there also like to pop in and out of stealth so the sound effect makes you wonder if some player enemy is nearby.

Take the right toward the barrens.&nbsp A very short way down the road, on the Left (east side), there will be an almost flat narrow valley looking area to walk through.&nbsp There are also a few scouts up on the hill to the left when you first take the pass, be careful.&nbsp Walk a little ways down the open area that looks almost like a pathway.&nbsp You will see slime.&nbsp Start killing.&nbsp Keep walking and killing.&nbsp The slime will drop a box.&nbsp It will be sitting on the ground in the middle of the dead slime.&nbsp Open it.&nbsp There you go.

I finally found moonwell in Iris lake where she/ he is supposed to be. I have the Pommel to turn quest in, but when I got there nobody was there! Now This quest is put on hold until somebody can tell me WHY! Where is Shael Drynn?

Ive killed almost 25 or so Slimes so far near barrens entrance and have gottin the box like 7 times...but everytime its not in there...just wool, broken locks,pratice locks and copper...
Is this happening to anyone else?

Can anyone help me figure out what i might be missing or doin wrong plz :)

box dropped of slime 72/75 south of splinter tree...watch for the steatlh npcs...

oh..it didnt drop (in the usual box like other items..)
it APPEARED as the slime was bout 3/4 dead...

i was going to the barrens and i killed a rotteing slime just for fun and a box was where the rotting slime was and i opened it and i got a quest item and this was a rotting slime rite next to the barrens gate

If ur looking for the Iron Pommel just kill some of those slime things (around tloc 76,76), they have a chance to drop a chest, and the Pommel is in that chest.

An easy way to find these slimes is to first find the Warsong Labor Camp (Just off the road to the Barrens) and go through (Or around it) untill you come across the Dor'Danil Barrow Den. Kill the slimes there and, before long, a box will drop (WARNING: The box does NOT appear in the loot window, it drops on the ground and ANYONE can take it!)

The Iron Pommel is found inside a box that drops off Rotting Slimes at 70,75.&nbsp It actually appears on the ground next to the corpse of the slime...it is not something that you loot off the slime.&nbsp Every time that I have completed this quest it has dropped off the first slime I kill at 70,75.&nbsp That is just a few yards east of the spawn point of the Horde NPC Torek and his four Splintertree raiders.&nbsp If you are traveling on the road south toward the Barrens, and you pass the path leading west to Silverwing Outpost, watch the east side of the road.&nbsp When you see a break in the hill on that side of the road, turn east and start killing slimes.&nbsp This quest is very easy.

I had two Rotting Slimes drop lock boxes right next to each other at 73,73. Only the first one contained the Iron Pommel, of course, and I'd killed closed to a dozen before getting here for the successful kill.

This quest is not much of a challenge the slimes are only lvl 21 22 which is daft considering I got this quest at lvl 27. As a druid I went cat form and stealthed into the den there are some lvl 27 baddies on the right hand side found the slimes at 73 72. The second slime I killed dropped a box and inside was the pommel!&nbsp Stealthed back and I was away no problems. Once again the co ordinates provided were spot on so thanks for those.&nbsp Before i got my add ons I used too spend ages running around looking for places I mean lets face it the directions you get off the quest givers aren't always very presice.&nbsp I reccomend everyone too get Titan Panel add on or simular makes life so much easier.

As entropic said, the pommel will be inside the chests that drop from the rotting slimes. The pommel is not guaranteed to be in the first or even second chest that drops, so just keep looking. These slimes can be found by following the main road east out of astranaar. You will come to a fork in the road that looks like a rounded off "Y". The south road, if you check the sign, will head to the barrens. Follow this road til you come to about the middle of its length. When you are at the middle of the road, look directly east. There should be a small lake with some level 27-30 timberling elementals. Direcly west from this spot is where you will find the slimes. Kill them until they drop a chest with your pommel in it. This is the last piece of the Rod! Celebrate, then head back to shael'dryn for the next step in the chain.

The pommel CAN drop off slimes that are not in Dor'Danil. I was headed that way because alot of people said they got theirs around there and it dropped off the first slime I killed. Level 20...very nice. ^_^

This was super easy.. found the slimes just off the road - they were only lvl 20's, so my lvl 26 Druid creamed them in like 2 hits. 2nd slime dropped the box.

The slimes you need to kill are just north east of Fallen Sky Lake. A chest will spawn when you kill one and inside is the pommel you need. Mine spawned on the 5th kill. Super easy.

Oh and 2300 xp, plus 100 rep with Darnassus at lvl 33.

No chest dropped to the ground until I killed a slime in the Dor'Danil Barrow Den labeled zone. Just a suggestion.
