Raene's Cleansing

Find the hidden shrine and re-enchant Dartol's Rod.
Reconstructed Rod
Provided Item:
Reconstructed Rod

Description

Here is the completed rod, <name>. Reconstructing it was simple... it's finding the shrine that has the power to recharge it that will be the hard part.

With some focus and effort it shouldn't be too hard for someone like you, who's already accomplished so much.

Head southeast of here--there are very few paths, so be careful--and keep your eyes to the north. The shrine is hidden within the mountains that surround this glade.

Once there, place the rod within the shrine... the rest is magic. Hehe.

To expand on Shind's description, if you stick to the eastern wall of mountains and head south, you will eventually be able to get around this small area of mountains. When you are around that first batch of mountains, head directly north. You will have to weave your way between a few other mountains and trees following a small natural path.

Eventually, you will find a dirt path which spirals its way around one of the larger mountains. Follow this path up around the mountain until you find a large, hollowed out tree. There should be a small, sparky, glowing stone inside. This stone is the said shrine you need to be at to charge the rod. If you see this glowing stone, you're at the right place! This is the last step in the rod's creation.

Enjoy turning into a furbolg, or if you decide to finish the entire quest line, you can receive a nice ring and two handed mace. (note that if you do finish the quest line, you will lose the ability to turn into a furbolg forever, as upon completing the quest line, Raene takes Dartol's Rod of Transformation away from you.)

The shrine is located in the hills directly above and East of Moonwell. When you start out from Moonwell, stay to the left and about the time that you can see the main road, there will be an opening in the hills on the left. Go that way and work your way around the hills, staying to the left, when you get to the top of the brown path, the shrine will be there.

I've submitted a screenshot of the exact location of the shrine. If you get confused and end up at the road, just head north and kill bears til you come by the path.

The hidden shrines location is directly south of the moonwell where you complete the rod.&nbsp In order to get to it you have to exit the moonwell area travelling left (south on the map) and hug the mountains.&nbsp When you get to the southern face of those mountains, there is a break to the north, head north (the mountains will be between you and the moonwell mentioned previously now) and head east when you reach the dead end, you will see a dirt path winding up into the hills, follow this all the way around and you will find the hidden shrine on top of the hill.

Finding this can be a little tricky. Took me about 20 minutes. The shrine itself is a rock in the middle of a hollowed out tree way up in the mountains. As a previous poster stated its location is basically directly north of the "R" in the town name "Raynewood" on the in-game map.

The easiest way to find this is thus: from the moonwell, hug the base of the hill to the left (as you exit the moonwell). You will essentially end up going in a semi-circle. After some small little hills (and many, many bears-lol) you will see a couple torches which is the beginning of the path up the mountain to the shrine.

Look on your in-game map. if you are to the west of the "R" in the town name you have the right path. If you hit the path to the centaur village or the road to Felwood you went too far.

Happy hunting.

For non-Cosmos users, here's a possible route: heading south on the main road, turn left directly opposite the path to the Silverwing Outpost (or whatever it's called), where the furbolgs are. Head due North. When you hit a hill and can't continue North, bear around to the right. You'll see lots of bears and maybe Shadumbra, the panther that wanders around.

After bearing right, stay to the left, close to the hill you are going around. You'll be heading due North again. When you can't go due North any more (because of this same hill), bear slightly East and proceed between the hill and a much smaller hill. You should then see the beginning of the winding path up the next hill.

Hope this helps. Nice light show in the shrine.

Look at the map and approach this from the road. Pretty much straight south of the location you will find a path windin upwards. This path will take you there. A few level 20-22 bears along the way that's about it.&nbsp

The last few posts have said it correctly...the location (Titan Panel Coords) of the Shrine is at 56,49.&nbsp After leaving the moonwell to find the shrine, head South east and hug the mountains on your left... turn east at the big field where you first entered off the road.. run through the field...through the small pass into another open area...and turn left (north) at 55,52.

A very short distance ( 55,51 ) turn east and head UP the path...it is counterclockwise and will bring you directly to the Shrine.

An easy quest.&nbsp Good Luck

The shrine is up the mountain right next to a river coming out of the lake. The trail leading up to it has torches along the sides. Once you get near the top the uncorrupted firbolg is across the river. He has a name that I can't remember right now and is KOS until you turn into a firbolg. Once in firbolg form his name turns green and a yellow ? appears over his head.

This shrine is a BEAR to find (yuk yuk /rofl)

ok, it's at 56,49

look at the little mountain picture just northwest of the "Raynewood" letters the shrine is dead center of the bottom line of the little picture of mountains. you'll have to kill bunches of bears to get up to it, and there is a winding, blackened road up the hillside. tricky to find, but fun. i met some troll players on the way DOH!

By the time I got to this step, I was level 28. The Ashenvale bears are level 21-22 which were grey/green to me. You can either run past them or kill them for light to medium leather. BTW, the directions below to find this place where very helpful.

It took me forever to get the rod of transfromation,to find the shrine and also do all of the quests before it.I suggest once u get the rod you abandon quest so you can keep furblog rod, then you will be able to go around anywhere with furblog form, but beleive me alot of people will ask to show you where to get it and they will say something like,"is that a warrior thing?"So it gets annoting and the form isn't as fun as a mount because you cant do anything special like go faster, inflict more damage, but still its like being a druid, and if you are a druid then you just added a new form to your collection,so when you get the rod abandon quest.Thankyou I got the rod when i was lvl 29,and i recomend starting the very first part of this quest at a higher lvl then 17 becasuse even at lvl 29 I died of aggro.Thx!
